The place has lovely food and coffee, but the service inattentive. When I ordered 4 pieces of food today (cinnamon bun, raspberry cheesecake, almond croissant and apple crumble cheesecake), the young woman packing the order got distracted talking to a coworker, mid-preparation of my order. First of all, it took her ages to assemble the 4 pieces of baked goods, that were already sitting in front of her (no baking or preparation needed). Second of all, while distracted, she forgot to include the almond croissant in my bag, but made me pay for it. Since my order was to go, and it took her so long to prepare so I didn't watch her every move, I only noticed at home that she completely forgot to include part of the order that I had paid for. This is quite unprofessional, considering the fact that it would not have happened, had she talked with her colleague later. It was not just a quick exchange of necessary information, either. This experience affected my trust in the place, and even though I will come back for the amazing food and coffee I was really let down...
Read moreGreat coffee and food! Friendly service and lovely atmosphere. When I am in Maastricht I always have a coffee and a bite at Koffie! UPDATE: I had the opportunity to visit again approximately four weeks ago and unfortunately noticed a considerable decline in quality since my last experience. The cakes, unfortunately, appeared overly sweet and seemed to lack the homemade touch, resembling more of a mass-produced quality. Additionally, we were unable to order any savory items from the menu as it was past 2 pm. The coffee was satisfactory but did not meet the high standards I had previously enjoyed. Overall, the experience was quite disappointing, which is a sentiment I rarely have felt at Koffie during my regular visits to Maastricht. I genuinely hope the quality is elevated to its former glory soon, as I have had numerous delightful experiences here...

The coffee is strong, yet has a lovely earthy taste that’s best enjoyed with regular or plant-based milk. It’s also excellent as an iced option on a hot summer day. We also tried the carrot cake, which was exceptional — moist and flavourful, with warm cinnamon notes. The citrusy buttercream on top is creamy and rich in flavour, and it pairs well with the chopped walnuts, which add a nice crunch and texture. The staff are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere inside the café is pleasant. They even have dedicated laptop spaces with plugs for studying or work. It may get a bit noisy at times, but most people there don’t...
