Order: Blueberry hill (blueberries, vanilla ice cream), Province (Brie, ham, chives, caramelized walnuts and honey) Price: $33 Pro: Winner of the meal was the pancake/crepe itself, the cheese was amazing, ice cream was simple but delicious Con: A little on the expensive side but I feel like that’s the norm here so far tldr: Amazing crepe style pancakes but not cheap (worth it though)

Thoughts: For breakfast on our second day in Aruba we drove into the downtown area to find Dutch style pancakes. These are basically crepes, very large and not thick like the traditional American style pancake. It did take some time to get there as the traffic in the area was a bit crazy but once we found the area parking wasn’t actually that bad.

It was a beautiful day outside, so we took advantage of their awesome outdoor seating and soaked in the sun while we ate brunch. We ordered two “Dutch style” pancakes, one sweet and one savory. The Dutch style pancakes are essentially slightly thicker crepes that are as large as a dinner plate, or as my wife calls them, crepes made the right way. Also, just to be clear, they are listed as pancakes but I’m calling them crepes from here on out….because they’re crepes.

The sweeter crepe was their blue berry hill and was covered in blueberries with a sizable, but not overwhelming, scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center. The blueberries were fresh, the ice cream was delicious, and its sweetness paired nicely with the slight tartness for the blueberries. But the real winner was the crepe itself. It was thin without being dense, sweet but not sugary tasting, moist without being a wet mess, and just dry enough that it had a bit of firmness to it. In a word, the crepe was perfect.

The savory crepe was called the Provence, I honestly don’t know if that’s spelled right though so instead of worrying about it, I’ll just tell you about it. The same crepe as the blueberry one was instead topped with several slices of prosciutto ham, perfectly caramelized walnuts and three thick slices of creamy brie cheese. Dear father in heaven this cheese, it was so creamy it was heavenly; think room temperature butter. The taste was impeccable and everything on the plate elevated each other element. The honey drizzled over the whole crepe just drove everything home.

On top of all this they have free Wi-Fi and the atmosphere is perfect for a lazy afternoon sitting around, soaking in the sun, and catching up on….not work, don’t do work in Aruba. But seriously, if you’re in Aruba you owe it to yourself to get over to Dutch Pancakes and get crepes; and seriously don’t do something silly like go here and not get the pancakes, it’s literally in the name....

Dec2023: 5⭐: I would recommend this location and this restaurant crew. It's good to see that after 2 years, this restaurant location is still performing with its food quality and customer service. We got in line to wait for about 15 minutes. We were then seated and served hot entrees of good quality food.

July 2021: 5⭐: I would recommend this location and this restaurant. I stopped by the Dutch Pancakehouse for breakfast/brunch with my spouse. We arrived at the location and found that there were about 16 people standing in line waiting to be seated. The wait time to be seated was about 45 minutes. After this waiting time, we were finally called to be seated. We sat for about five minutes before we placed our order with the server who had come to the table earlier to bring drinks. After about ten minutes, we received our order of two strawberry pancakes, hash browns and turkey sausages. My spouse initially said it was too much food, but was soon scraping the plate trying to get all of the remaining melting ice cream. Our server, Ghislaine, was very efficient, capable, and friendly. The workers inside the restaurant helped each other and brought all of our food to the table at one time. ALL of these workers were hustling to keep up with the customer's orders and customer needs. The food arrived hot and visually pleasing to the eye. We both ate all...

We ate breakfast here twice on vacation. First time was phenomenal. So great we decided to go back. The second time was awful and when we come back in a few months we definitely will NOT be going back. We waited in line which is not out of the ordinary for this place we were seated at 11am, finally after seeing 6 different people being served who came in after us I decided to say something. It had been an hour since we ordered. I asked someone and they dismissed me. I asked for the manager, who finally went in the kitchen and said something but came back with attitude towards me as if I was inconveniencing him for asking him where our food was. About three minutes later Ashley came out and it was wrong. I try to get our waitress his attention with no luck. So we eat what we were given I tried to explain to her that we were not given the correct food and showed her a picture, and they still refused to change the bill. I understand it’s very busy. Please put the professionalism was unacceptable and the fact that we were sitting after ordered for over an hour is unacceptable. Everybody who was in line with us, but after us had been served and left by the time we got our food and the only thing they offered was to give a free orange juice. I never leave bad reviews but this really made me angry by the way they treated us and...

Every time we passed this place, the line outside screamed, 'You need to eat here!' So we made it a mission to visit at least once—and ended up going three times; flipping fantastic experiences (don’t miss the pancake pun there)! On our first visit, we were greeted by a short line (less than 10 minutes). Uncaffeinated and bleary-eyed, we begged for coffee, and they blessed us with two fresh cups. Hallelujah! The menu looked so incredible, we felt like kids in a candy store. For our first trip, we went with a sweet and a savory dish to cover all bases. We also ordered poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes with powdered sugar and butter) as a 'small' appetizer. These Moses-sized pancakes were divine. Seriously, the best mini pancakes I've ever had! The texture and consistency were out of this world, unlike the pancakes we make at home. For the sweet item, we chose the peach pancake, which arrived literally on fire! Talk about a grand entrance. On our second and third visits, we couldn't resist the Seaport Breakfast. It's like an American breakfast that went on a European vacation and came back with flair. So good, it's hard to put into words. The service was incredibly happy, friendly, and helpful. The food is delicious and worth every penny. Moses himself gives The Dutch Pancake House a resounding two staffs-up. Highly recommend!
