This café, located at the entrance of the Zuidplein shopping mall, is a good spot for a casual coffee and brunch. It’s worth visiting if you have other errands in the Zuidplein mall or nearby facilities, but it might not be a destination on its own.
Interior: The interior is casual, with a moderate number of seats, though they don’t appear particularly comfortable and there aren’t many given the space.
Coffee: The café offers a variety of fresh coffee options that taste quite good.
Avocado Croissant: The avocado croissant was carefully prepared, tasted delicious, and unexpectedly delightful with the addition of egg.
Service: On several visits, I found the staff not very efficient, with orders taking a relatively long time to be processed.
Pricing and Service Style: Like many Dutch cafés, it is somewhat pricey, and the staff serves drinks directly to your table.
This café seems like a convenient place to stop by when visiting Zuidplein, offering a decent coffee and...
Read moreI started my (lazy) Sunday with a tiny toast avocado and a single cappuccino with oat milk.
The cafe is directly next to the transport hub of the south of Rotterdam (Zuidplein) with connections to the local Metro and Bus network. But also long distance buses like FlixBus are stopping here. Also a shopping mall and the Ahoy arena are super close by! Currently there is a construction around the whole area to reduce the amount of individual car traffic with focus on pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Atmosphere and service are great! The menue is huge and the fancy pancakes are next time on my plate. There were just two customers in when I arrived. Got my drink within 5 and the food within 10 minutes!
Highly recommended, especially when you are in the area anyways or just arriving/departing by Flixbus.
Update: they also sell seasonal products on top of the normal menu. Love the terrace during summer,...
Read moreI have been here quite a few times, but I don't think I'll be back again. The food is pretty nice and the place looks cosy, but I am not a fan of the environment and the menu.
More specifically, I think the menu lacks variation. It is mostly breakfast foods made from the same few ingredients. I got tired of it very quickly. The savory dishes are also a bit bland. Waiting times tend to be long, and seating is not very comfortable. The cafe itself is often cramped, noisy and stuffy. I also think the food is pricier than I would expect based on the level of comfort/service/facilities. Not crazy expensive, but there's better options if you are on a budget. If you like breakfast all day however, you may like this place.
If 30ML wants customer input, I'd suggest better ventilation, noise reuction, food variety and possibly rethinking the layout of the cafe to the make walkways...
