I definitely recommend this lovely and cozy place. A hidden gem in the middle of busy Rotterdam. On a cold fall day my partner and I decided to use a gift certificate that he received a while ago. I don't know why we waited so long to use it, but I am happy we did. It was a last minute choice, so we called and they told us they have a table for two at 16h.
We chose for the surprise menu, also an all-tasting sort of menu. I believe we paid total of 50 euro per person. Our bill with two wines and one sparkling water was 135 euro.
The ambiance on the inside is dark and cozy the decor fits the name, feeling like being in a modern church.
The service was very nice. Everyone was so sweet and caring. With each round we received broad information of what we were going to eat. I really liked this.
Our special menu consistsed of different rounds. The cheese/ham platter, the fish round and the beef round.
We started with the cheese and ham platter super delicious. Specially the ceviche styled fish with passion fruit. Very innovative. Loved the sweet and sour taste of it. The burratta cheese with the black berries and balsamic olive oil was explendid. A nice mixture of taste. The sourness of the berries and the burratta mixed with the balsamic really enhanced the flavors.
The mussels and shrimps was my favorite one of the fish round! That sauce is unique!!!
But please, let's talk about the last round, the beef round. They really left the last for best! I am still dreaming about those Indonesian taco's!!! The pulled beef with its Indonesian touch of coconut milk was absolutely amazing. The taco shell looked very crunchy and hard to bite, but I swear this just melts in your mouth! Also squeeze that lime on top! Also the beef from the BBQ with the crispy mushroom! Please order!
I so recommend my favorite dishes. Can't wait to go back.

Read moreHad dinner there a couple of days ago, and it was a memorable experience in the worst sense. The food was OK, but it was totally overpriced in terms of quantity and quality. We were suggested to order several dishes to share, but the portions were barely enough for one person. Like, €16 for 50g of regularly cooked salmon, is quite exaggerated. Overall, the taste of the dishes was alright, but there's nothing “culinary” or extraordinary about them to justify the price. On top, the staff is arrogant to the bone. Really not making you want...

The kitchen team is well prepared and organised, quick and thorough. Wine pairing you can leave up to the team and you will not be disappointed. Reasonably priced this is a great venue to...
