Bandu Beach — Restaurant in The Hague

Beautiful view and a great playground for the kids — but overall, the service was seriously disappointing. We were a group of 7, and when we ordered drinks, the staff just dumped them all on one far corner of the table, completely out of reach. We had to get up and pass everything ourselves. The vibe from the female staff was that they were too good to actually serve anyone. If you don’t want to work in customer service, find another job.

The Thai food was actually quite good, but the drinks were ridiculously overpriced. Worst of all, there were rusty nails and screws sticking out of the wooden floor in several spots — totally unsafe, especially with kids around. This needs urgent repair.

The one saving grace? There was one server — usually shirtless and working the beach — who stood out. He had a very friendly, respectful vibe and gave us excellent service. He seemed to come from a different background where people are treated with genuine kindness. He was the only one who earned a tip from me. The others? Zero. And that’s exactly what that kind of rude, snobby...

Hair in my food! Cozy, relax and spacious but terrible service. We were there to spend a sunny morning back on the terraces. You would think most restaurants are ready and eager to go back in business but this one was a disappointment. My order was not registered, but strangely the drinks were. After almost 45 minutes, I inquired and they passed the order then. When it came, my chicken wrap had NO chicken, my son’s Caesar salad with no anchovies HAD anchovies, and my walnut and goat cheese sandwich did NOT have walnuts. At the exact moment the manger came to make things better, we found a hair on the salade. It is a pity because the place is great and the manager did try to make things better. He offered to reimburse part of my order, so at least he tried. But the waiting and the bad food made experience is definitely taking Veronica...

Worst experience at scheveningen ever, service is insanely slow, rude and unprofessional (physical touch is no way to handle a customer). So many other nice beach clubs here, go anywhere else but Bandu. It took us a good 20 minutes to order, the staff pretends not to see you and come to you without greeting asking in a rude manner what you want. We waited more than an hour for our food after that (unfortunately we paid in advance) what's worse upon asking the waiters what happened i was told "kitchen is busy" while people arriving after us were eating within 10 minutes. It's also not okay to be touching your customers, even though it seems default at Bandu to do so if someone complains for good reason, because both guys were doing so. Keep your hands...
