BlueBlood | Nikkei Cuisine Restaurant — Restaurant in The Hague

Visiting this gem was an absolute treat. The moment you enter, the ambiance, the decor, and the friendliness of the staff makes you feel welcomed and that you’re where you’re meant to be. Being in a restaurant that’s visually appealing and just feels and look clean is the start of any good experience, and BlueBlood took the cake on that.

It was nice to be greeted with a great smile by the staff along with a glass of bubbles to get things started. The menu offers a nice wide range of fusion delights, plus a variety of steak and other meet options. We ordered the T-Bone Steak, the Beef Pot Roast, loaded fries and a combination of sauces to complement the dishes. Our satisfactory level was through the roof with the food quality. The steak, ordered medium, was flavoured and cooked to perfection that was enjoyed with every bite, the pot roast was so soft and tender that it broke apart in your mouth, and the loaded fries was well salted and loaded as the taste of cheese, salt and sauce was not an overwhelming one. BlueBlood really offered an amazing experience, one that made this birthday dinner even more special.

A big thank you to the staff for setting up a nice dessert treat of Tres Leches on dry ice with the sparkler. The dessert was absolutely delicious with the touch of matcha coated on the plate.

Awful experience for a birthday celebration on Saturday, 12.10.2024, due to poor service; the food was nice, though.

*Poor handling of the reservation: They made a mistake with the number of people and didn’t take note that it was a birthday celebration. *Long wait for orders: We were only a table of 6, but they couldn’t bring the dishes together, so we had to eat in turns. Ready-to-serve drinks took 15-20min, and food took 40min-1h. *Inaccurate information from the waiter: When we asked about a certain dish (the famous one with smoke), he mentioned it was only part of the 5-course menu, which was disappointing. However, it unexpectedly appeared in our order of single dishes. *No special treatment for the birthday: Despite announcing it being a birthday celebration, we didn’t receive any special treat. We even ordered desserts and requested fireworks on them, but the order took so long that we ended up leaving before dessert arrived. *All of this happened while the restaurant didn't seem to be at full capacity and the head waiter seemed concerned, came to our table to ask how we were and apologized frequently, and even gave us his business card to make up on future ocassions... It would have been better to receive the drinks on the house or another sort of immediate compensation for the terrible time.

What a bad place! They said when we arrived @aprox 8.20, the mexican Maitre D': ...sorry we are full U can go to the bar. Well @the bar we went online and boom. Reservation for 8.30 available. Well so the 'Maitre D' was lying. Thats not all, the barkeeper, speaks no Dutch, poor English and stated he is from Greece. Eventhough he was all alone at the bar serving the bar AND restaurant he recalled they are always so full. They do not open for lunch etc. (ONLINE THEY ARE OPEN FOR LUNCH). Mind U a big fat lye since we are staying @the Hilton. He managed in all 'busy business' to serve my husband a whiskey euro18.00, (they don't have blue label, we asked for).! Then this Greek bartender, he totally forgot my Japanese garden cocktail, a supposed house specialty cocktail, euro 16.50 we do not mind to pay. Our conclusion: these people know nothing about service. So I will not recommend this place at all to none of my frequent flyer travellers friends. What a shame!!! We are staying at the Hilton for supposed professional goodservice in Den Haag. Well here both the Hotel and restaurant lack all of that.
