Short version: this place is worth a substantial detour from whatever route you had in mind. If you are curious just how good food can be, in a small restaurant in a residential area, come here. The menu is limited, which in my book is a good sign. People are people here, including the guests, hosts and cooks. And boy can they cook. I have never had a better caponata than here. Anywhere. Barring none. We had the dishes of the day, being a beef stew and dorade. The desserts were a Tiramisu (not some fantasy version either) and a semifreddo / parfait. The quality was not what you expect from a small local restaurant: higher than most in town. The sauces of the stew and dorade were outstanding, the wine was suited for the meal and reasonably priced and the desserts were to return for. Why come here? They were flexible to prepare dishes as we requested as well. I had the noci pasta and asked for truffels to be added and tagliatelli to be used instead of fusilli. All requests were accommodated.
