Absolutely delightful, tried pretty much every single item they have and i have only 3 things to say.
Food is ridiculously good for such a price, in this town it's very hard to find something SOOOO good and so affordable at the same time, that being said...
... thin cut fries cool down way too fast, i get it, they're thin cut, that's why they get cold very fast, but then maybe have a thicker version of fries as an option too? you have sweet potatoes, they're wonderful but...
... usually they come clumped up, once in a while they're under fried and that makes them pretty much inedable, that happened only once though, what makes me a lil bit sad is that compared to prices of the burgers and other sandwiches, in a country like netherlands, you get a very tiny amount of sweet potatoes for a price of 4.50, but i can't complain much since they're really good and other food items are very affordable.
Overall, wonderful place, i worked as a food deliverer for 1.5 years and visited many restaurants which i also tried later on and none of them surprised me as much as day dream did, their name is very fitting, it feels like a day dream to have an option of such delicious food for such a price.
5/5 would recommend to anyone...
Read moreI visited Day Dream Deli with high expectations and ordered the double cheeseburger, hoping for a great taste experience. Unfortunately, the meat was unappetizing and overly greasy, drenched in butter. On the other hand, my friends had the salami-flavored burger, which turned out to be delicious, so the quality clearly varies.
What made the experience worse was the service. The staff were quite rude, especially the blonde cashier. He didn’t even look our faces while saying couple of things at he beginning and, when we asked a simple question for clarification, he responded dismissively with, “As I already said…” Then, I needed to be a bir assertive and direct to keep him respectful but I was mad at him.
Additionally, the overall atmosphere was chaotic. The staff were blasting music and behaving loudly, more like a group hanging out on a street corner than employees in a food establishment. Their attitude gave the impression that they own the place and that customer service doesn’t matter, perhaps because they feel they’ll have...
Read moreIt’s a cozy place with seating both inside and outside. The cheesesteak sandwich was really good, flavorful but not too intense. Just right.
My boyfriend and I ordered take-out because I initially planned to eat elsewhere. When a table became available, we decided to sit down. The chef told us not to order take-out if we were going to eat in, because the packaging would end up in the trash. I understand the reasoning. I work in a restaurant myself. Still, I didn’t appreciate the assumption that I would throw it away. After the comment, I took one bite and brought the rest home. On the way out, I noticed other packaging in the trash. I wondered if the same thing was said to other customers.
I understand that packaging is expensive these days, but maybe include that cost in the price (if that hasn’t been done already).
The food was nice and the place has potential, but the interaction left me feeling a bit unwelcome. Probably not a place...
