Establishments like this is why I'm very cautious with giving a place five stars. Sure there's places that do a good job and deserve a pat on the back but truly excellent places deserve to shine like the northern star amongst its peers. This is such a place, whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch or a drink at Pistache they have it all.
The food is what you know but different as to invite you into a familiar but better perspective. I yet have to cone back and try it all but so far the quality is super consistent. The presentation (as you can see) is beautiful but simple, not overdone but still something that hurts a little to destroy. Perfect.
The staff walk around relaxed with smiles on their faces, unlike the usual Dutch waiters that usually make you wait half an hour after you already know what you want the staff picks up on cues and is attentive to the clientele as to serve but not intrude, very nice.
The location is a dream, with a view on the royal gardens and the full light of the sun on a sunny day (or the option to hide away from the sun on a sunny day and still be outside!!!) and the atmosphere is relaxed. On the inside we're presented with a cozy interior that takes one back to a simpler non pretentious time when café's were a place to sit and enjoy oneself rather than to take a selfie because its the cool thing to do (even though as you can see from the photos the place including its interior definitely still lends itself for an awesome selfie and for sure is a place where one wants to be seen).
All in all I'd say, whether you're looking for a place to relax and simply enjoy yourself and get your moneys worth somewhere where people still remember how to treat others or you're looking for the new place to be seen, Pistache is the place for you.
Places like this make me happy I'm one of the harsher critics and use my five stars sparingly, thank you...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Pistache Cafe for breakfast, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The cafe boasts a stunning view that makes for a perfect breakfast setting. Its ambiance strikes a perfect balance between calm and cozy, inviting you to relax and enjoy your meal in comfort.
The staff at Pistache Cafe added to the charm of the visit. The chef was very nice and respectful, showing genuine care and passion for the culinary experience they provide. Similarly, the waiter was attentive and friendly, making the service impeccable throughout the meal.
Now, let’s talk about the coffee and food - both of which exceeded my expectations. The coffee was flavorful and robust - a great kick-start to the morning. As for the food, it was nothing short of delicious. The portions were generous, ensuring that you leave satisfied. I tried the French toast, and it was absolutely amazing. Perfectly prepared, it was a delightful blend of flavors that I would recommend to anyone visiting.
In summary, Pistache Cafe is a gem that offers not just food and drink, but an experience. Whether it’s the beautiful view, the serene atmosphere, the kind-hearted staff, the delicious coffee, or the rich, flavorful breakfast options like their incredible French toast, this cafe is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreBased on three separate experiences.
Excellent location, cute interior, but the actual service leaves a lot to be desired. Staff seems bored, encountered them rudiculing customers about their accent (there was a French customer in front of me, and apparently his voice was hilarious).
Ordered the waffles, upon receiving them I found three long brown hairs baked into them. Told the staff about this, only to be told "Eh, it happens...", with no politeness or apology, no offer for reimbursement, nothing.
Furthermore the waffles tasted doughy and half baked, which may be due to them supposedly being vegan and gluten free - something the menu doesn't state, but is written on a sign at the counter. It's good to have options, but had I known this I wouldn't have ordered them in the first place.
The coffee was...well, average coffee really. Nothing to write home about.
All in all a very mediocre experience, with a lot of potential to be had with just a little bit of effort...
