Restaurant Niko offers a delightful experience of traditional Japanese cuisine with an impressive range of sake options. From my visit, I can confidently say that it is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Japan.

The restaurant's ambiance exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, with traditional Japanese décor elements, such as wooden furnishings, and serene paintings. The dim lighting and soothing background music create a relaxing environment, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or loved ones.

The staff at Niko are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and sake selections. They are happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences and are quick to fulfill any requests. The level of service enhances the overall dining experience and makes guests feel welcome.

The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of traditional Japanese dishes. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients and the mastery of the chefs. The flavors are well-balanced, and the presentation is elegant, adding to the visual appeal of the dishes.

For sake enthusiasts, Niko is a paradise. The restaurant boasts an impressive collection of sake from different regions of Japan, ranging from delicate and fruity to bold and robust flavors. The sake menu is well-curated, making it easy for both connoisseurs and novices to find the perfect pairing for their meal.

Overall, Restaurant Niko excels in offering an authentic taste of Japan, with a welcoming ambiance, attentive service, and a diverse selection of delicious dishes and sake options. Whether you are a seasoned Japanese food enthusiast or a curious newcomer, this restaurant is sure to leave a lasting impression and is highly recommended for anyone seeking an exceptional...

Fraudulent restaurant with extremely rude manager and horrible service!

Our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the staff lacked professionalism. The service was incredibly slow, and despite our attempts to flag down the staff, it felt like we were invisible to them.

To make matters worse, our starters arrived at different times, and the main course was served before the table was properly cleared: a clear sign of disorganization.

But the grand finale? A menu item advertised as including quail eggs (more than 1) was served with half a regular egg instead. When we brought this to the manager's attention, expecting an apology and perhaps a solution, we were met with rudeness. The manager had the audacity to address our concerns as "minor details" and insignificant! We had never encountered such an arrogant restaurant manager before! He even challenged us to leave a bad review for his restaurant! Replacing a menu item with a much cheaper item without even informing us in advance, is technically a fraud.

Long story short, save your appetite and money. Until this restaurant gets its act together and serves up some decent service with a side of respect,...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Exceptional Japanese Dining Experience on the Water!

NIKO offers an authentic Japanese Izakaya experience right in the heart of The Hague. We had the pleasure of enjoying our meal while seated outside on the boat terrace along the canal—a peaceful and truly unique setting.

The appetizers were absolutely delightful. The Japanese Caprese was a fresh and creative twist on a classic, while the Octopus Salad was perfectly seasoned and tender. We also loved the Oyster No. 2—a bold, flavorful bite—and the Chikuwa Isobeage, which was crispy on the outside and light on the inside. The Miso Soup was comforting and rich in flavor, a perfect warm-up to the rest of the meal.

For mains, we enjoyed the deliciously crisp Hirekatsu and the incredibly tender Beef Tataki with onion soy sauce. The Sauce Katsu Don had just the right balance of sweet and savory, and the Oyako Don was heartwarming and full of flavor.

Every dish was beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients, and the staff were kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The whole experience—amazing food, lovely service, and the serene canal setting—makes NIKO a true gem in The Hague. Highly recommended!

Sehr...

We went here for lunch and had an excellent experience. The food is authentic Japanese cuisine—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell they pay attention to the small details. For example, they use Keng rice, the same variety I had in Japan. They also top the bento rice with a bit of perilla, which adds a nice layer of flavor. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, making it a great spot to hang out. You can also enjoy coffee and dessert here, just like at a cozy café. Highly recommended for both the food and the ambiance.
