Taste of Persia — Restaurant in The Hague

First of all, I'm Iranian myself and I've been to many good Persian restaurants in Iran and some good restaurants out of Iran. In any restaurant, basically, you should ask for fresh ingridiants and balanced quality to price ratio. The food in taste of Persia is authentic and the quality is as good as it could be. So it's a perfect pass for Persian food standards for sure. When it comes to experience, I can't recommend anywhere else. The owners (wonderful lovely couple) will treat you like guests of the family. You will recieve special attention and you will be surprised by a totally different experience of eating out. To simply put it in words, The best and the most genuine form of Iranian hospitality. So if you want a taste of Persian food and Persian hospitality I can't recommend anywhere else.

💡Pro tips: A portion in taste of Persia is too much to handle in one sitting, you can easily take the leftovers home and it will be enough for another meal. Instead, keep some room for dessert! The first time we went, we really enjoyed it. The food was good and the service was nice too. No complaints. However, the second time we wanted to go, we had a terrible experience. We had our dog with us and we waited at the door to ask if they’d allow dogs inside. At first a young girl came to greet us and she was really sweet and said she needed to check with the owner. So she turned back to the lady who was serving a table right behind and asked her. This lady, the owner, without even looking at us or acknowledging us just shook her head in a rude manner. It was really insulting as we were standing right in front of her. Even if you don’t allow dogs, you can be nice about it and acknowledge people. If you cannot have basic human decency of politeness then no matter how good your food is, we are never going to go back. On principle, I will not give business to such kind of establishments. Very good food made by very good people. This is the place to go when you like to treat yourself after a long week. The atmosphere, food and hospitality always makes me happy.

The food is very good and also comes in a good portion. I have been to three different Persian restaurants so far, this has been the best. If you are two, I recommend to order one grilled dish and one stew because you don't want to miss any of those. I normally don't like lamb because of its unique smell but after their lamb stew, I have learned the beauty of this meat.

The owner is very kind and always show great smile on her face, which makes other people happy too. I feel like I am at home whenever I am there (even though I am not a Persian :)
