Bagels & Beans — Restaurant in Utrecht

I sat outside which I was the only one while inside was full. They came sometimes out to ask me if everyhting is fine and if I wanted anything else; a very friendly employee  came outside once to tell me to be careful with the beggars 😂 because they can be tricky and they can steal and asked me if I am OK after he saw, while he was inside, a random person coming to my table; I truly appreciated that he asked and he tried to help, feels good to have breakfast/ brunch at a place that they employees and the owner are firstly humans. It felt really good because I was sleepless and I appreciated the extra service. Yes it was one of these days when you just want quietness, kindness and something tasty to enjoy. My experience was more than great for a great price! I ordered the "Power Breakfast" for 10.75 plus the tips that they truly deserved - its good to mention that the waiter, a young guy, was very polite and with manners and good service - and with that I got a warm fresh bagel cut in half, some Philadelphia on the side, jam if I want to spread it on my bagel, lots of tiny chocolate drops the ones that I am more used to putting on ice cream, though, on the bagel it's tasty as well, apparently. We visited Bagels & Beans on a Thursday morning, and were delighted to find the place practically empty, which made for a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who were quick to assist us with our orders.

The breakfast bagels were impressive, with a wide variety of healthy options that didn't disappoint. Everything we ordered felt fresh and was prepared with care. We particularly enjoyed the "wild Alaskan salmon and avocado" bagel, which was generously topped with fresh ingredients and had just the right amount of creaminess from the avocado.

The restaurant's location on Mariaplaats, one of the most beautiful squares in Utrecht, is an added bonus. The square hosts the stunning Conservatorium building, making it a lovely spot to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee.

A bit strange place. We went there many times and everything was super fine, the last two times the bagels were really bad done and it really looks like the waitress was in a bad mood, we try to call her from the table (only looking at her, making eye contact) and she looked at us with a bit of an attitude, and ignored us. We had to go to the desk to order and pay. Any of the waitress came to the table, in any moment, only to bring the food. They did not picked up the plates when we finished, and did not ask if we wanted to drink something else. We were there around one hour. It is pretty annoying that people can not be professional, everybody has problems but leave the outside your workplace. There were two ladies working that morning, one looked like she started recently, and was fine but doing everything, while the other lady was looking angry from behind the desk.
