Friends brought me here on a fine Sunday afternoon. This bar is from a converted church and it's cool to see some of the stuff still hanging around. Anyways we got the Bierproeverij or the beer tasting which came with 6 beers. The first beer we got was a Adriaan Witbier from Jopen. It was really nice and had a lighter flavor. Next we got more of a weizen, it was nice too because all the beers were explained as well as the back story of some of the beers. The server did an amazing job. Next we got Maneblusser Mechels Stadsbier, this was nice as well, enjoyable. After that we got the Duchesse De Bourgogne which tasted like balsamic vinegar but its not horrible. Would be nice to eat this with fries and fish. Then we got Gaia IPA which wasn't as hoppy so that was enjoyable. It came with some snacks: Cheesesticks, bitterballen, fried shrimp, loempia. Food was nice with the beers. Second to last was Chimay Peres Trappistes which was a tripel. Lastly was the Trappistes Rochefort 10 which was a quadruple. After we ordered a Kwak and a small Heinekin beertje. Great beer tasting, nice stories and nice venue.

We came spontaneously on a Friday evening where lots tables inside were still available. It was a bit stuffy inside since there is no air circulation and no air conditioning. It does get quite warm. We wanted to try Dutch specialties and got Mini frikandel and Beer bread with three different dips. The frikandel was not our style ar all... tasted a bit too salty and dry. The mayo dip also didn't help. The bread was good though, but a bit too crumbly. The dips were foods as well, even though the butter reminded me more of mayo. The prices are on the higher side. We also got different beers. Staff was friendly. All in all, the coolest thing about this is the location since the bar is inside a church. That makes it a cool experience.

super good experience! we were lucky to arrive at the lowest possible time when the place was empty and took great pics - half an hour later it was full. the place is very unique and unusual - the restaurant is very well incorporated into the ex-church. food was super delicious - we had the hamburger (the sauce was incredibly tasty) and the goat cheese salad. the beers were awesome (Affligem Belgish). but the service was the best! extremely friendly and nice! we forgot to warn the waiter that my friend was allergic to honey but they remade the dish without a single problem! we did not even need to ask - the waiter just saw we got suddenly upset and fixed everything! I totally recommend this place

An incredible, beautiful place with wonderful service from a friendly and competent staff! A very interesting place that was once a church, transformed into this beautiful bar and restaurant! With many options of drinks and beers, I suggest you enjoy what you can. We have been there twice! One time it was completely full and we had to wait to get in! Another time it was empty, for lunch on a Monday, and half an hour later it was full again! Wonderful experiences! We will return whenever possible! We strongly recommend that you visit and frequent this beautiful place, full of life, beauty and delicious things in a contagious and happy atmosphere! Grazie Mille!

A must visit in Utrecht. An old church converted into a lovely bar. Always a crowd as its a tourist attraction. However not much of a wait during Sunday noon. Friendly & helpful staff. Quite a big space so plenty of seating. Love that they kept the original church structure & decor. We drank some craft beers on tap. Also ordered their bitterballen, lamb stew over fries & croque madame. All arrived hot & fresh. Quite yummy. Highlight being the stew. Tender lamb & packed with flavor. Decent portion sizes. Definitely enjoyed our time here. A must visit for sure.

If you like beer, this place is for you! They have a diverse high quality beer menu. The brewery is located where used be a church and the have kept the structurel, such as the organ, wich makes the experience more unique and fun. I recommend that you take advantage of the perfect opportunity to drink a Trappist beer, which in its origins was a beer brewed by Trasppist monks or under their direct supervision and therefore that related with the Catholic Church. I ate a french frieds and it was ok. I would not say that the food is the brewery's strong point.
