LOX Utrecht — Restaurant in Utrecht

I am an American who has lived in Utrecht for three years. Being American means that bagels are incredibly important to me. After moving here and suffering by way of a a certain place ending in 'Beans' giving me fake bagels that are really just white bread with a hole, I am happy to report that I (or you) will no longer have to endure those fraudulent products.

Lox has incredible (and authentic) bagels. They are so good that a friend and I visit 1-4 times each week to eat, spill tea, and feel the quality of our lives improve tenfold. While we consider ourselves to be the backbone of this establishment because of our frequent patronage, it is very clear that they are actually OUR support system and that we would not survive without them.

I am a New Yorker, so my bar for bagels is set quite high. I was truly surprised and impressed by these bagels! The density was very good, nothing like those over compressed pieces of bread typical of other bagel places… The bagels were clearly boiled, as they should be, so the crust was perfect. They also had a good amount of customizability. Obviously there’s not the same amount of options as one would find in a NY deli, but as a specialized shop I think they had great options. We tried two bagels - one off the menu (lox) and one fully custom. I was really pleased that they were set up to make your bagel! The price is really fair. recently visited this restaurant and had the pleasure of trying their bagels. Let me just say, it was one of the best bagels I've ever had! The texture was perfectly chewy, and the flavor was so rich and delicious. I opted for the classic lox and cream cheese, and it did not disappoint.

Aside from the food, the atmosphere was wonderful. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the decor was cozy and inviting. It's the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat and catch up with friends.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. The bagels alone are worth the visit, but everything else was equally amazing. I'll definitely be back! Five...
