The food was really nice, fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is also good, you can get a bit of the Spanish feeling only the space is overcrowded with too many tables. One less table and it would be a bit better: then the waitress would not kick my chair every time she comes around us. The only bad experience is the staff and the service. First we ordered 4 different foods for the 2 of us. It took 1,5 hours to serve them which is insanely long. I read others had similar experience. Then we ordered the next 4, those they served within 30 mins, I was surprised. At the end they forgot to serve the most expensive one we ordered and they did not bring any olives with the Jamon plate. We asked them to correct the check with the missing food which they did. The staff is friendly but when they bring new food to the really small table they don’t take the empty plates, you need to ask them for that. They don’t ask proactively to refill the drinks. Once, I had a question (about the missing olives) and rather than asking immediately what my question is, she only came back 5 mins later. By then I decided not to ask… she looked overloaded already. I think after reading other reviews I am with the ones, who complained about the staff's lack of professionalism. Price wise it was ain’t cheap, we paid €120 including 2 mojitos and a virgin cocktail, for that you could expect a more flawless service. Other than these it is a nice place to come...
Read moreTucked away in the busy Voorstraat of Utrecht, this place has a nice atmosphere with high and low tables insides and a couple of tables outside. The staff is cheerful and friendly. Like a true Spanish restaurant, we spotted two impressive pieces of cured pork legs behind the bar, secured and ready to be sliced and two more hanging from the ceiling. We ordered two pitchers of home made Sangria and a bunch of tapas: cured pata negra, shrimp pancakes, slow cooked pork cheek, marinated chicken, ham croquet, bacalao croquet, mushrooms, eggplant, baby squid, ceviche. All tapas were tasty, especially the ham croquettes, pork cheek and the chicken.
The potato salad that came with the dorade ceviche was good but it overwhelmed the taste of the fish, which was a bit pity. The eggplant tapas was okay but it seemed less refined compared to other dishes, served as salted, thinly sliced and deep fried chips, topped with syrup.
Watch out with the sangria because it tastes so good that you would chug it away too quickly.
For dessert we ordered the poste pina colada. The coconut ice-cream was very creamy and the blocks of pineapple were drenched with rum, very nice. All in all, very nice...
Read moreI have no desire to visit this place again! It was Birthday celebration and we chose this place for this event. We ordered glasses of wine - the waitress poured and spilled it! Didn't apologize. The wine dripped down the glass and stem onto the table and the waitress didn’t even think to wipe it off. We ourselves had to blot and wipe with napkins so that our clothes would not drip by red wine. Oh! By the way, the dirty napkins were not taken away until the very end of our dinner. We ordered jamon, olives, hot food. The wine was served immediately, hot food after 20 minutes, jamon and olives were completely forgotten. We ate the hot food and reminded of the rest - that it would be advisable to serve it immediately with wine while waiting for the hot food. The waitress brought then by our remind olives, and when they were served carelessly, the olives fell out of the container and rolled across the table. We caught them ourselves. The jamon was served last. Waiting to pay for dinner about 10 minutes- the waitress was not busy with other tables! Wine good, jamon good, other-good but may be better. The reality is that we do not recommend visiting this place! Location:...
