From the moment i've walked in, i was treated like a valued guest. The staff's attentiveness and care made me feel as though i had been a regular there for years. The restaurant's ambiance was remarkable, exuding a quiet and comforting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The high standard in terms of food was evident from the very beginning. I opted for the 5 course menu, a decision i'm truly glad i made. The flavors, textures and presentation of the dishes were beyond compare. The quality of the ingredients and the precision in preparation were evident with every bite. De Heeren van Leeuwen is a gem of a restaurant at the water’s edge of the Oudegracht in Utrecht’s binnestad. The staff is caring and attentive and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Such care is taken to make you feel “right at home” as soon as you walk through the door. We had the surprise menu which was beautifully presented with quality ingredients and perfectly paired with delicious wines hand-picked by the owner who is very knowledgeable. The pride and passion for the food is evident in every course. We especially appreciate that the chefs themselves bring the food to the table and explain the ingredients and formulations. Food was amazing, this became one of my favorite restaurants in utrecht. Secret menu is definitely worth it. Chef presents you every dish with explanation on what it has and trust me it melts in your mouth. Everything is so soft and all dishes were in such a harmony. What nicely surprised me was the time they would give in between dishes. They would give just right amount of time to enjoy your meal to digest it a bit before bringing the next one.
