I’ve visited this café a few times now, and feel it’s time to share an honest impression. Unfortunately, each visit has left me increasingly disappointed. On three out of four occasions, there was an issue with my order — including one instance where my drink never arrived, despite having paid. Today, I waited over 20 minutes for a takeaway coffee, and my husband’s order was incorrect, which prolonged our visit further. The service, while not unfriendly, comes across as disorganised and inattentive. The overall atmosphere feels more chaotic than relaxed, which is disheartening in a setting that should feel welcoming. Watching staff struggle to match drinks with customers or sort out orders creates an air of stress rather than enjoyment. The current system for taking orders, processing payments, and delivering drinks and pastries seems unnecessarily fragmented. Too many hands are involved in the process, which only adds to the confusion. It often appears the barista is unsure which order belongs to whom, or who is meant to bring it out. A particularly unusual — and frankly disappointing — practice is serving pastries earlier than the accompanying drinks. It’s not pleasant to either eat a pastry “dry” or let it sit there while you wait, unsure if your coffee was forgotten. It’s worth noting that these issues aren’t happening when the café is overwhelmed. If the staff anticipates a delay, a simple update or estimated wait time would go a long way in managing expectations. I’m not sure I’ll return. Utrecht has several cafés with vegan options and a more consistent, relaxed experience — which is what I was hoping to find here. Even ordering to go, in an attempt to avoid the internal disarray, did not make the experience any smoother.

This was the first ever place I visited when I came to Utrecht & I’ve been in love ever since. The pastries are simply divine (try the pistachio croissant 🤤) and so are the focaccia (my fav being Gorgonzola & pecan). I’ve been living in Utrecht for a couple of years now and this cute café is worth a weekly visit. They often have specials and change up their menu by adding new & improved baked goods - so there’s always a new reason to come back. Their coffee specialties are tasty as well! Plus the staff is the friendliest around - always up for a nice chat 💬 Update after a few months of being away: still incredible, still my fav bakery/café in Utrecht! Especially the cheesecake is amazing! I craved this while I was abroad

Simply great. Small café offering fresh, home baked plant based pastries and savoury treats (focaccia and farinata), including some gluten free options. We tried the mushroom and “goat cheese” focaccia, the farinata, the pastel de nata and pistachio filled croissant. All of them were very tasty. I personally had a big crush on the mushroom focaccia. Both sweet pastries were actually rather low on sugar, which is good from a health standpoint but could do with a bit sweeter taste (and with a stronger vanilla flavour for the pastel) in my opinion. Service is very friendly and informative. The café is small and has limited seating. Coffee can be served with a choice of oat, coconut or sprouts milk.

I have been going to the place for a couple of years, that is, since I decided to move to Utrecht. I have to say that unfortunately there have been some steps backwards regarding various aspects that I will try to report, my only intention is that they arrive to improve. The smell that you perceive when entering and the subsequent permanence in the clothes (if you stop to consume inside obviously) is too strong, in my opinion they should intervene better on the extraction system. The size of the croissants (I fully understand that it is not a frozen product and made with the mold) in my opinion has reduced as well as the quantity of their content and this is not good considering the selling price (4.50 €). Finally, the quality of the coffee did not convince me, but this could depend on the grinding and preparation of the same (too watery and burnt in my case). I conclude by saying that, for how much you spend, perhaps you do not reach the quality that should result. I hope a balance is found because all the...

Been coming for years and this used to be my favorite place to visit, easily 5 star worthy. Lately, the pastries have shrunk, while prices have climbed to a point that I no longer want to afford. I’ve also had some occasions where puff pastries were burned and almost black at the top, sold for full price. Quality has become inconsistent. This is also the case with fillings inside the pastries. Some days you get enough, other days, there’s hardly any, making the price of the pastry even more questionable. Throughout the years, staff has changed, and while current staff members are usually friendly, they’re not as cheerful and some even seem disinterested at times. This creates an atmosphere that I no longer feel like coming for. It’s sad to say, but I hardly ever come...
