Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed with the place. First we were asked to move to a 2 person table because it was going to get busy, this would have been absolutely fine if the next couple that literally sat down at the same table 1 minute later with 2 people would have also had to move… but they were there the rest of the time with also just the two of them. The starter was pretty tasty and the wine was also nice. Unfortunately both our mains were lukewarm and lacked flavour. My dish involved a lamb shank and their was barely/no meat on it. The bruschetta definitely needed more salt (there was none on the table) and by the time the waitress came to ask if I needed anything I was mostly done with it. The Polpette dish was nothing to write home about. It needed more cheese. I got the sampler dessert and they originally told me it came with tiramisu but when it arrived there was no Tiramisu, just a half scoop ice cream, a tiny tiny corner of a cheesecake, and a mini cannoli. Wat een geweldige ervaring bij Trattoria Polpette in Utrecht! Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen, werden we hartelijk verwelkomd door het vriendelijke personeel. De sfeer in het restaurant is warm en gezellig, met een authentiek Italiaans tintje dat je meteen in de juiste stemming brengt.

Het menu biedt een uitstekende selectie van traditionele Italiaanse gerechten, en het was moeilijk om een keuze te maken! We begonnen met een paar antipasti, en ze waren stuk voor stuk heerlijk. De smaken waren vers en vol, en de presentatie was prachtig.

Als hoofdgerecht kozen we voor de huisgemaakte pasta, en het was een ware traktatie! De pasta was perfect al dente en de sauzen waren rijk en smaakvol. Het is duidelijk dat de chef met liefde en aandacht voor detail kookt. We konden niet weerstaan aan een dessert, en de tiramisu was de perfecte afsluiter van onze maaltijd – licht, romig en vol van smaak.

De service was ook fantastisch. Het personeel was attent en zorgzaam, zonder opdringerig te zijn. Ze namen de tijd om ons te adviseren over de gerechten en de wijn, en dat maakte het geheel nog specialer.

Al met al, Trattoria Polpette is een echte aanwinst voor Utrecht. Of je nu op zoek bent naar een romantisch diner, een gezellige avond met vrienden of een bijzondere gelegenheid, dit restaurant heeft het allemaal. We kunnen niet wachten om terug te keren en nog meer van het menu te ontdekken!
