Friendly staff and atmosphere. It was a warm day and we reserved for 8.30 pm (the Dutch usually eat between 6 and 7 pm), so we managed to get a table in the busy and popular back garden. Lots of beautiful greenery all around (unfortunately the wisteria was already done blooming) and thankfully not a bee, wasp or any other dinner crasher in sight.
We received a complimentary basket of brown and white bread and a flavorful garlic butter to start with.
Husband ordered the cheese fondue for one with the charcuterie as an extra. This came with an assortment of vegetables cut into sticks, a basket of bread and a small salad. The charcuterie consisted of a few different meats.
I went with the 200 gram steak. This came with a seasonal pepper sauce, cherry tomatoes and asparagus. Sides included thickly cut potatoes/fries with mayo and a summer salad including red cabbage, sprouts and cassava.
Came to a total of €65 for 2 main courses (extra €8 charge for the charcuterie), 1 gin tonic and 1 ginger ale, and 2 fresh ginger teas.
Staff was quick to respond and with a smile, even though it was a busy evening. Food arrived quickly (but it probably helped a lot that out reservation was not during rush hour). Taste was not haute cuisine, but satisfying nonetheless. Bit too high of a price for the quality, but we would still eat here again next time we...
Read moreI ordered hot lemon water, it came up with a little cup of hot water with 2 thin slice of lemon in there, later on refilled with hot water again, and I was charged Euo 6.50 for it. Whilst my friend's beer was Euo 2.75, I feel being ripped off. On the bill, it says 2 * thee (tea), but there is no single leaf of tea in there, it's NOT tea. If a cup of lemon water is Euo 3.25, the refill was just hot water, with NOTHING else in there, the boss still charged me Euo 3.25 for a little hot water from kettle. I can't see anyone being so hungry for money, to rip off customer...
Read moreHonestly fantastic, just went tonight with my partner, we shared the tournedos, some fries and the beef cheeks. Lovely sauced butter with the bread to begin with, service was really nice, not too invasive and really friendly. As I said to a member of the waiting staff, I grew up in France and it was one of the best French meals I had outside of France. Felt nostalgia as I ate. Hoping all the success for this bistro and we will be...
