Belly-Worship Mission Bay — Restaurant in Ōrākei

I didn't think I would be writing a review again but this place has got to be one of the biggest underrated places in all of Auckland on both taste and value for money. This is specific to the Mission Bay branch, but the Duty Manager confirmed that the beef, lamb and chicken were halal, which is a very nice plus.

Overall Rating: 9.7 / 10 (S Tier)

Food: 9.5/10: The food was some of the best I've had in a long time. I love chinese food, and the servings here bring me that lovely taste that I hardly find anywhere else around Auckland. They also cater both for halal and vegan options which makes this quite possibly the safest place to bring anyone for a feed. The best part is that the serving sizes are very huge. The only fault I can give on a broad basis is that the food is not as spicy as you'd think, the double spice rating feels normal to me. Maybe I'd prefer an even spicier option. I've ordered the following below: Fried Squid - 11/10 I would highly recommend Popcorn Chicken - 9/10 Great volume, make sure to add sauce Sizzling Cumin Lamb - 10/10 I would order this every time if I could Chicken Skewers - 8/10 Good flavour but slightly hard to get off the stick Sichuan Spicy Chicken - 10/10 Oooh boy this is nice and authentic Deep Fried Cream Puffs - 9/10 The guilty pleasure snack, and so well prices Assorted Baked Goods - 9/10 They somehow also have incredible almond crossaints

Price: 10/10 For what you get in terms of taste and amount, this is probably the best place in Mission Bay. The Duty Manager says they make everything from scratch inside, which helps them keep prices like that.

Atmosphere: 11/10 Look at the photos, I didn't expect this place to be at the price range it is with how well decorated it is.

Service: 10/10 Honestly a very nice bunch of guys there. Food came quick, they offered blankets to us if we were cold, and are really easy to talk to.

I'd highly recommend this place to anyone. I've eaten in too many overpriced places with sub-par food, this one...

The food here is truly amazing! I have been a fan for a while now, but my recent dine-in experience only solidified my love for this place.

Aside from the food, the service here is top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always make sure that we have everything we need. They are knowledgeable about the menu and always happy to offer suggestions or answer any questions we have. The service adds to the overall experience of dining at Belly-Worship.

Now, let's talk about value for money. Not only is the food delicious, but the portions are very generous. The Bao buns are massive, and you definitely get your money's worth. And speaking of Bao buns, I have to give a special shoutout to the Pork Belly Bao, which is a personal favorite of mine. The pork is perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth, and the bun is soft and fluffy.

In addition to the Bao buns, the dumplings are another must-try. The Sichuan Pork Dumplings are spicy and flavorful, while the Pork, Shrimp, and Chives Dumplings are packed with juicy meat and a perfect amount of seasoning. And if you're feeling adventurous, give the Spicy Cumin Lamb on Sizzling Plate a try - it's a deliciously flavorful dish that is sure to satisfy your cravings.

Tonight, I was in the mood for something lighter, so I ordered just the one Pork Belly Bao, which was heavenly. Meanwhile, my partner ordered the Spicy Cumin Lamb on Sizzling Plate, and it was bursting with spice flavors.

All in all, Belly-Worship is a fantastic restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone. The food is exceptional, the service is outstanding, and the value for money is unbeatable. Make sure to visit this gem in Mission Bay - you won't be...

We took my elderly mum and aunty to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago to celebrate their birthdays. The food was incredibly delicious as it always is here (and also at the Balmoral branch) but the service somehow managed to top it. Our wait person was very attentive and anticipated our needs before we did right from the time we walked in, and was careful not to be intrusive and consistently struck the perfect balance. He even organised a very touching and much appreciated surprise for our birthday girls. They felt so spoilt. (Thank you so much!!)

Mum had only been to the Balmoral one before which she enjoys, but she absolutely loved the Mission Bay site, it's a much different vibe. It was my aunty's first introduction to this wonderful place and she was blown away by the food and by her third mouthful she was already planning return trips with her family when they visit from overseas.

Thank you for an amazing experience for our birthday girls, it's honestly really nice to see genuinely good service still thriving even during these rocky times for the hospo industry.
