Daaku Kebab Papatoetoe — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

Brother cooking the food really disappointed me. Sad to see why people do that. I asked for two crab sticks. Saw brother throw them in fryer straight from fridge. Asked brother why you don't batter it or crumb it. Can't put in fryer as is. Brother confirmed me three times that they come battered already. Was happy thought they come semi cooked and frozen battered. Attached photo of what was served plain deep fried crab sticks very oily not edible no seasoning no coating at all. Asked the brother that you had confirmed me earlier he replied " ohh sorry bro I thought you meant if it had butter so I said yes it comes already buttered" is this toast bread that it has butter. I couldn't make out any connection to butter with this. Very disappointing experience....

Ordered the butter chicken fries and chicken/lamb on rice. Waited an hour for our food and it didn't look like anyone really knew what they were doing. By the time we got our food it was cold too.

The butter chicken fries did not taste like butter chicken - they were soggy and the sauce tasted like a strong curry powder.

The meat on rice was okay, although the rice was a bit soggy. The fact that everything was cold too after having to wait an hour was odd - no one apologized for the long...

I recently visited Daaku Kebab Papatoetoe and was excited to try their kebabs based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The kebabs were burnt to a crisp, making them tough and inedible. The overpowering taste of char completely masked any potential flavor from the meat and spices. Also, The Falafel was dry and flavourless. Overall, I left feeling frustrated and hungry. I had high hopes for this place, but I won't be returning...
