Gym is good & staff are lovely
This RATING & WARNING is about the HEADOFFICE/MEMBERServices of city fitness that take money out of our bank accounts. I've canceled my membership with cityfitness twice in the past - I have never had an issue until this 3rd time canceling (black membership)
If you ever decide to cancel your membership pls ensure the payments stop in 4 weeks time like what the confirmation says online when you submit your form. For some reason I've been told I selected my membership to end 2months (31st Dec) after the form was submited which is the last day of 2024. there's no way I would have selected 2months later, so surely must be a system error.
I've picked up that my almost $15 lol is still going (6 payments total). I asked member.services@cityfitness to refund my two extra payments, and they have advised they cannot do this. Like why? There system said payments will stop in 4 weeks times when the form was submited. The confirmation should have said payments will stop on 31st Dec if that's what apparently they are saying I selected online? not tru because my contact number was also incorrect
Anyway, my concern is if they refuse to refund my money I can only imagine the amount of ppl who are not aware money is still being taken out of their acc though the 4 weeks is long past. Double check your cancelation, every $ counts esp...
Read moreMe and my sister came to papatoetoe city fitness to register one half month ago. We booked a personal trainer for 2 sessions. And we filled up which days we want the trainer and the times as well. When we come for the first session, the trainer had gone to Takanini one. So we had to come back home. And then I think she came next week for the first session. Actually she didn’t tell us how to operate the machines. So we were waiting for the next session for asking about that. After that she told that she will come next week, next week, but still she didn’t come . And then we told it to the reception. They gave us another trainer’s contact number. And then We got an appointment today with him. When we go there, the receptionist told us he is sick. So he will not come. Untill we come to the city fitness he didn’t inform us.
We both have small children. Its not easy to manage with other works. Everything we plan at night for the other day. Before we come here we have to do lots of works at home. Sometimes children want come with us. They are crying. Husbands have to look after them. And we booked on weekdays. But they ask us to come on which days they want.

Read moreCancelled my membership mid september and the staff told me that I did not have to pay anymore and that she will cancel my direct debit and that I can still use the gym till mid Oct. Later get an email from them saying I had to pay for 4 more weeks. Staff provided misleading information and then I requested a manager call. Manager said its your responsibility to read T&C and it was a shame when the staff in the club provides wrong information and the person on the phone blames the customer. They still want me to pay the amount even after accepting their staff may have made a mistake. Negotiating with me to pay 2 weeks now instead of 4 weeks even after accepting staff provided wrong info. Hopefully someone can act on this and reach out again to discuss. Very unsatisfied with the overall situation. Poor service and Untrained staff at this club. Do not recommend...
