Papatoetoe Cosmopolitan Club — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

Good food. Actually, great food! Great Bar Staff, however the grumpy man on the welcoming desk was NOT pleasant at all. Was slightly rude when asking us to sign in but I just chalked that up to old age. Being our first time to Papatoetoe Cossie Club (but not to Cosmopolitan clubs in surrounding areas) He didnt tell me that we needed to put our number plate in a tablet to the side of reception. So when we met up with our group, they told me I needed to put my number plate in. So I went back to reception and old mate said exactly this "oh its too late now you should have done it when you arrived". I proceeded to tell him he didnt let me know what when I filled out the sign in sheet he gave me. To which he said "oh well, you should have looked at the signs", I then said, there are so many signs, you knew this was our first time here and even asked where I parked! He was really grumpy and really rude. So I went on about my night. When we were leaving, seeing the patrons I was with he told me "if you get a ticket, just bring it in and we'll fix it up for you, just give it to X and we'll sort it". Guess what - a ticket came and when we took it in, they said oh no, we dont do that, only for paying patrons. I should have just been allowed to put my plate in at the time and taken my chances. I actually think old mate knew what he was doing. Long story short, the food was the only saving grace to this visit. First and last. The Manurewa and Mangere clubs and far superior. Absolutely terrible night. We ordered the roast pork which was advertised to go with apple crumble for free. The roast pork came out and bowls of Christmas pudding and custard. The custard was lumpy and watery. They said they ran out of crumble however when the chef came out he said he wanted to try something different. We exclaimed that not everyone likes Christmas pudding and his response was “well it’s free”. No, it’s not free, it’s included and there’s a difference. The pudding also shouldn’t come at the same time as the main. My gravy was cold, another had cold veges, another had cold pork and the crackle was no crackle at all. Played pool, timer ran out and we were on the black ball. Told us to pay for another 30 mins. We said we’re finishing our last game but still insisted we pay for another 30 mins. I am a member of the Papatoetoe Cosmopolitan Club, it is a joy to be there. Nice amount of parking everywhere surrounding the Club. The guy at front desk super nice to talk to - jokes around too :D .

Has a well set out gym (worth the yearly subscription to the club). . Has tv screen also. Big dining area with pool tables /live music/ sports TVs EVERYWHERE / dessert area and darts.
