Beso Cafe and Kitchen — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

This place had a lovely vibe on arrival and the gentleman who greeted us as we ordered was lovely Although it took almost 40 mins for our food to come out despite the fact there was not very many people in the venue and those already there seemed to have been served their meals. When we asked about our food 25 mins after ordering we were told “oh only another 5-10 mins” which we thought was already slightly too long considering we ordered relatively easy breakfast items. My meal finally came out without the eggs and when asked where the eggs were I was informed they were still coming. A few mins later my eggs arrived and we questioned when my finances meal would be coming (this was about 35 -40 mins of waiting at this point) the lady just said yes and walked off, no explanation no apology. About 4 mins later she returned with my partners breakfast. The food thankfully was delicious but we were extremely hungry at this point. Waited a few days to write this review. So much of the place wants you to make it 5 star and myself being a 5 or 1 star guy, did not understand the lots of 4 star reviews on this place. Prices are OK, food choices are plenty and location is good. Parking was available, for a early morning breakfast. The food came quick and was hot. Coffee was strong and well presented. Jus the quality of the food was what made it a 4 star. Very oily hollandaise on eggs Benny, and a little messy presentation. The bread and bacon where delicious! Bacon done to perfection and this made you wanting more. The two piece was probably good for the price, but the sause and presentation needs work. Will be back when in the big smoke traveling to the airport, hoping the sause is made to the perfection of the rest of the meal. Absolutely loved this café with its cool retro vibe!

I had the fish and chips, the fish was super fresh and flaky, and the chips were crispy and delicious. My wife tried the big breakfast and was impressed with everything on the plate fresh toasted tomatoes, sourdough bread, and tasty beans.

We both ordered a mocha, and it had the perfect balance of chocolate and coffee really well made.

Before we left, we grabbed some eclairs and mousse cake from the cabinet they looked fresh and tasted just as good.
