A busy local hangout with lots of options for all dietary requirements and the younger crowd too. Twisted Tomato provides decent food to appease both the savoury and sweet tooth. The Green Machine smoothie was nice and vibrant in colour however the use of single use plastic straws could be looked into. The muesli was rather good too, not to sweet which suited my preference. My friend had the mushrooms and said while they were nice he thought that the mushroom sauce itself was a little heavy. Then again just a preference. However they were very nice and the polenta was pretty good too. It’s a busy place on the weekends so expect a potential delay in getting a seat. The staff were friendly and greeted us with a smile. Water was offered but only after we had finished our meals. This is something that I believe should be offered right from the get go. The outdoor heating is great and always inviting, easy to sit outside and be cosy too.

The service was impeccable - we were served by a lovely girl, who seemed shy but was great at her job :) The atmosphere was phenomenal, I didn’t realise the hidden gem was their backyard sheltered seating - it was pretty neat discovering that. My food was delectable - I have never had bacon cooked more perfect in my life. The ratio of everything was well-balanced, the eggs were poached beautifully. The sausages were divine, and the coffee art was incredible. I wish I could give half stars, because there was only a minor detail missing in my entire experience - which was the potato in my big breakfast. A hash brown substitute would have been delightful as part of the original dish, and some hollandaise on the side - but I guess that’s more of a preference thing - and I could have easily asked for those modifications. I would definitely recommend Twisted Tomato to anyone who finds themselves out that way, or live in the area.

*Updated 5/3/23: We thought we'd revisit Twisted Tomato after Cam left and new owners took over. Unfortunately it's a shadow of it's former self. Mediterranean Kofte was off the menu and my usual poached eggs and bacon on ciabatta was down a slice, and as for the "Salad Burger" with chicken, meagre. Cabinet food is also considerably smaller portions. Savouries by the till is very unhygienic considering the amount of people who stand over it while ordering and paying. The photos are a good comparison and speak for themselves. Not a good way to retain existing customers, and probably won't come back. *Updated 5/8/22: Great atmosphere and vibe. Coffee is very good and food is good, very good. Another one of my top 10 favourite cafés.

I have a bit of feedback, not negative just a couple things i have noticed... I came into the store on the weekend to get breakfast, food was perfection I really enjoyed it and everyone was very friendly especially our waitress who was the young girl with dark brown hair. What I would like to note is that I could clearly feel a stressed out vibe in the atmosphere, every single staff member looked stressed as it was quite busy. Going on with this, from what I saw there was clearly not enough staff working for the amount of people and orders there were. I have noticed this everytime I have come in that you guys are clearly short staffed. 1 or 2 waitresses and 1 chef working when it is that busy seems really stressful and puts a look of pressure on your staff and it shows. This also makes orders come out slower and wait times for orders much longer. One other thing I noticed was I did not see a single staff member go for a break the entire time I was there and I was there for a couple of hours. I would hope you are giving your staff breaks as it is a legal right to give your staff at least a 10 minute paied break for 2-4 hours of work and an additonal 30 minute unpaid break for 4-7 hours of work. Giving your staff no breaks is against the law. This is all the feedback I have, apart from this your cafe is great and I really enjoy coming to eat here and will continue to come. I just think you should take this feedback into consideration so things can run more smoothly and less...

I'm pretty certain that this place has changed hands of ownership since the last time I visited. Came here for lunch today and was extremely disappointed by both the service and quality of food and drink. Upon entering, the cafe wasn't too busy but we were ignored and left to sit at the table unattended for about 10 mins before we gave up and headed to the counter to order directly. We had to step over (presumably) the owner's small child who was playing with sugar packets, serviettes, and cutlery on the cafe floor. I completely understand that it's the new year and people may not have child care available, but to have him playing in the middle of the cafe floor with utensils on the floor was pretty shocking as I'm sure those utensils will be offered to customers after. They brought my hot chocolate out first with my partner's food order, and he had to wait until we had both finished eating for his drink to arrive, which turned out to be the wrong drink. When they did bring the correct drink, my partner (who isn't a fussy eater at all) said it was terrible. I ordered my usual chicken salad and I was shocked at how the portion sizes had decreased and how it tasted and looked entirely different. There were two bite sized pieces of stale haloumi, huge chunks of chicken and no aioli or oranges on top. The water glasses were also dirty and stained. Overall, a very very disappointing visit as this used to be one of my favourite...

Our family ate here a couple of weekends ago and were so embarrassed by the experience. Expensive meals and really small portions. We wondered what we had done wrong. Ordered eggs, but these were very small and the yolks pale (not rich free range yolks) but the menu claimed they were free range! There was an air-conditioner in the Cafe but we all sweated into our seats, as it wasn't on. Perhaps they were saving money! Bacon was that cheap fatty flat Bacon. We eat out quite a lot and this is by far the the most expensive and "cheap" experience we've had in a long time. RESPONSE TO OWNERS RESPONSE. .. No that won't be happening, we won't be returning. It used to be a nice Cafe with good portions and fair prices, but since you took over portions are very small and quality of food not so good (cheap bacon & cheap eggs which are clearly not free range - yolks are pale and eggs small) you took us for a ride and you won't get another chance to rip us off like you did. Laughable that you even try to get us to return. You've ruined the business with your cheap offerings and greed. BTW, check your other reviews and you'll see this HAS...
