We stumbled on this gem and were totally blown away by the experience. Two people served us - a very friendly staff member and the owner. We asked for recommendations on wine and the owner was quick to share his experience and knowledge. We sat down and were a bit cold so the male staff member quickly put a heater on for us. Nothing was too much for them. The pizza we ate was incredible. It was fresh, cooked to perfection and was served to us within 10 minutes. The wine that accompanied went down a treat. The gelato was smooth and delicious. The atmosphere was a cool eclectic vibe, casual but cool. We thanked the owner after for our experience and it was evident that he puts his heart into the food he prepares. He was passionate about what he does - something that is a rare find. Thank you for having us. We will...

We finally got a chance to visit Bomba and try the full menu with pizza and pasta last night. What a treat!

The pizza is easily my favorite in the Chch area - but I have a weakness for neapolitan-style. The homemade Italian sausage was flavorful and delicious. The vegetarian calzone (with added olives) was a delight. The dough was perfectly chewy, sauce was on point.

We also had the mac 'n' cheese with jalapenos, bacon, and flamin' hot cheetos on top - it was just too good to pass up, and lived up to the hype of its constituent ingredients.

The owner is such a lovely and genuine human being, and is a joy to be around. His passion for what he does is evident, and his focus on making sure patrons have a good time and great food makes the experience even better!

We can't wait...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bomba: Pizza, Gelato and Café in Lyttelton, New Zealand and I have to say, it was an extraordinary experience. The pizzas are genuine Italian, made by an Italian chef, and they are absolutely delicious. The toppings were fresh and the dough was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere of the café was also spot on, it made me feel like I was on a trip to an Italian seaside to a pizzeria loved by locals. The café also offers delicious gelato that is made in-house, which was a perfect finish to the meal. The service was also top-notch, with the staff being friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend Bomba: Pizza, Gelato and Café to anyone looking for a authentic Italian dining experience. It's truly a hidden gem...

Amazing pizza and a fun twist! I recently tried Bomba Italian Pizza and was blown away. The pizza crust was perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, and the portion size was generous. We tried the pocket pizza, and it was delicious. What really impressed us was the spicy olive oil they offered for dipping. It added a nice kick without overpowering the flavors of the pizza, and the kids even loved it! The staff was also great. Overall, I highly recommend Bomba Italian Pizza to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Italian pizza with a fun twist.

First time experiencing this place and not sure if they’re always like this or if it was a once off but they said pizza would be ready in 10-15min and it took at least 30 (fine if that’s how long it takes but say the actual wait time, or perhaps they forgot my order). Either way it meant waiting around for a while instead of just walking around the shops til it’s ready. The pizza itself was undercooked and chewy and the sauce tastes like the tomato sauce from a Heinz spaghetti can. Overall disappointing size (and taste) when you’re paying $20 for a pizza.

My coworker (Italian) was telling me I had to check this place out for authentic Italian pizza. So I came here last weekend with my wife and we were amazed at how good the pizza is! If this is authentic Italian pizza, then we need more of it! The owner is very passionate about what he creates and everything that goes into it. He recommended us to try a Margherita if we want to know how good a place does their pizza - and it was so good we ordered another! Definitely one of the gems in Christchurch and 100% worth visiting.
