We went for the Rib special . We booked a table and are glad we did because this place is very popular. So I would say if you want by I go ,rather book a table even if you assume it won’t be busy . But I can see why they are popular. They have different specials on different days and we intend on trying them all in the coming few weeks . The ribs we had came with chips and salad . The ribs HuGE. There was so much on the plate . I had to take some ribs home . Everything we ate was bloody yummy. We got the last ribs . And that was at about 6 pm. Even though the special is all day ribs I would advise if you want to try them book a table and try and go no later than 5:30pmish cos their ribs are hella good and popular and the offer does say something about ribs are limited numbers. I had the cocktail of the week. I think it was called a Robot. Mother of dragons it was good . I hope I can ask for it next time I go and it isn’t just something that was for the week we went . Also the decor new and modern and the place is very clean. The views are stunning . Im not a smoker but they had a clean section for the smokers .and it wasn’t tucked away . They still had the view. When we got there the front desk told us the place was booked up.I could only see 2 waitresses . The person at the front desk had to help with waiting and clearing tables. But the three of them handled everything so professionally , kept on smiling and didn’t break a sweat. Very good service .very impressed with the staff on the day we went. Wish I had taken names and taken pictures of the food. Just before we left we say a couple of more waitresses start working . We are...
Read moreAfter being regulars at Papa Mo's for the many years we've lived in the area.. we'll never attend again. The food has been average for some time, but every time I've returned hoping I'll be wowed. We ordered the cauliflower, the fries and the chicken. As we got to the very last piece of chicken, my son found a hair and a clothing fibre in the coating of his chicken. I showed a waitress; she took the plate and didn't return. The restaurant manager returned and told me it looked like an eyebrow hair and we had eaten the entire plate so there's nothing he could do. No apology, no acknowledgement. Just straight into defending his stance that his people wear nets so it cant be from them (do they not have eyebrows? Or do they wear nets on their eyebrows?).
I told him the place had turned to custard; he replied "the place is all good until you don't get what you want hey?" He was basically insinuating that I was scouting for a free meal, I never once asked for a discount or something free. An acknowledgement and an apology would've been satisfactory. Absolutely disgusting way to speak to any customer, never mind, the locals that prop the place up during the winter.
The cauliflower was delicious, as were the fries, but the chicken was bland and tasteless.
The 'Mini Mo's' area was dirty, run down and had cigarette butts all over the floor. This place is so run down, unloved and just overall beyond average for the high prices, people will just opt to stop coming when there's more options. Your staff all need...
Read moreThis place is difficult to rate,,, in the beginning when it first opened l love love loved it! I found the menu interesting and eclectic and the food spot on. My family were especially fond of $5 bao buns on tuesdays. We took family there for dinner and lunch, we headed there for a drink in the afternoon or a specials night with the kids. I was impressed to have such a great place just down the road. I even recommended it to people...... And then everything changed, I am unsure why. The service went down hill and the food even more so. As recent as a few weeks ago we gave it one more chance and half the bao buns had disappeared from the menu and the dressings, presentation and garnish had changed significantly. Cheap soggy unappealing looking ingredients. The pickled cucumber had disappeared to make way for a few soggy slices that had seen better days. The momo chicken previously delicious was an over cooked breaded mess. The salt over powered everything. Even the kids meal. How disappointing, such a shame. Maybe not yet up to the pace of a busy summer? After spending many years in hospitality earlier in my career I have high but reasonable expectations. Staff are in dire need of good training and the kitchen would do better to hire chefs who can keep up the pace and quality of such a large menu, otherwise keep it cheap and cheerful guys it’s a bit of a blow out at the moment. Such a...
