Robert Harris Cafe - Rolleston — Restaurant in Canterbury

Went here today with my family 3 adults and 3 children. Certainly will not be going back. Spent about $80.00. Staff behind the counter were not at all friendly or helpful. We explained it was going to take time to get everyone sorted. OK then stood shaking her head as the children decided what they wanted. Very exciting for these 3 ages 5 3 and 3 as they don't do this often. Asked for juice for children brought 1 bottle and asked for 3 glasses oh. As we were finishing ordering were told they did have a kids menu. A bit late once you had ordered. Childrens corner. Coloring in for children no paper so we asked for some paper Oh. Pencils needed sharpening so Littles had trouble using. Meals arrived. Could we have a bowl so we could share mac cheese. Oh again. Then asked for plate to share chips then asked if we wanted anything else so she didn't have to come back oh. I thought we were the customers and they were to provide a service. Sorry it was so hard to help us and make our lunch a pleasant experience. Ps please make sure your pencils are sharp for the next poor children who...

Ive been a regular here for over a year, and I always ask if the muffins are fresh and absolutely love the honesty and willingness i usually receive.- I get the muffins are fine the following day especially if heated I personally don't enjoy them (call it neuro diverse but its the texture for me). The Indian lady serving was not polite and essentially lied saying yes they were fresh today. I've been here enough to 100% know this was a lie and they were not fresh upon tasting it and essentially threw it in the bin. I am the most disappointed in being lied to - just be honest then I would have made an informed decision to not purchase one today. I always arrange business meetings here as previously felt it was the best place in rolleston but this has left a beyond sour taste in my mouth and will not be back. Very disappointed and could see the lovely lady behind the coffee machine was also a bit disappointed and she was atleast a smiley face. This is not my first bad experience with this one particular staff member, it's a shame because the rest of the staff are...

Came here for a family Sunday brunch. Not very busy so we got a booth straight away, ordered the RH breakfast and the French toast. After 35+ mins of waiting, $65 lighter, and coffee nealry empty the food arrived. RH Breakfast: Cold Toast/warm bread (don't think the bread saw the toaster) 😩 Very cold bacon 😩 Poached eggs very nice 👌 Beans was nice (good to see on a menu) Sausage was average (standard pre-cooked sausage) French Toast: Very Soggy No flavour (Very bland) Banana's burnt and over ripe Maple flavoured sugar syrup was given (not maple syrup)

For the service: Cashier was very good, even though the young girl was training a new staff memeber 👍 Service team: Coffee was brought and to my mistake I ordered a large long black (not an americano) when asked if it was a large coffee, the wait staff rolled her eyes as if I should know the difference. Meals came out without cutlery and little feeling of a warm place to eat providing us with a very average experience.

Sorry Robert Harris Rolleston you won't be seeing us again...
