I have been before and live locally. I ordered the smoked salmon bagel, it was beautiful and the service was great. However I am very disappointed with my experience last weekend. I brought a friend along (as I recommended it to her) we ordered it to take away, it had been 30 minutes and kindly told a staff member how long we’d been waiting. Another staff member said 5 minutes later that they would be two minutes away. We had taken them away looking forward to having them out and about and then realised it wasn’t even made up. Had to go home and make it up, there was also tiny bit of salmon in the whole bagel so I ended up going to the supermarket and buying more for us. Made it up and realised it was all burnt and made it so hard to eat it. It’s not exactly cheap either… Was very unhappy, you can see photos below.

Great little cafe hidden in the corner .. i have only been in a few times as found it on my walk, which is not far from the beach in sumner ..,each time has been welcoming with friendly staff & greetings ,which as we know a smile goes a long way, in the first instance. Great coffee & my eye appealing breakfast impressed by the presentation,as we do eat with our eyes ... deliciousness ,wrapped up in yumminess, so definetly enjoyed. cabinet food looks amazing as well ... so many treats ,home cooked delights ...plenty of seating in & out with a few umbrellas scattered...great menus, from vegan/ kiddies / plenty to choose from ,for everyone, variety wise ....or just too grab a sweet treat & coffee .... So a definite visit if your in the area.....i recommend..🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.& i will be back .....

Must be 15 years in, and Dot Com still has that little something special. A neighbourhood café that won't settle for poor quality coffee. Order anything from a flat white to a mochaccino and you'll be pleased with great foam or actual chocolate shavings. Breakfast offerings are familiar on purpose, serving generations of Summer locals the way they like it. A casual visitor won't be disappointed though, the cabinet food sets the tone with the best looking cakes this side of the causeway. Busy even during the week, you'll still safely find a seat - whether you're coding for work or taking a break after a ride. Go here for that special community feel that explains how a café outlasts earthquakes and recessions to still ensure you sign relief at a good coffee.

Myself and some friends came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. I will start by saying that the food was excellent, the atmosphere was nice, and most of the staff were very pleasant. Nothing in the cabinet was priced which was unfortunate but I figured it would be on the more expensive side so that wasn't terribly concerning. The reason I am rating this place so lowly is because of the treatment of the cashier by the other staff. Right in front of us she was berated quite unnecessarily and publicly about the cost of lemons, the again about something I did not catch (I believe she clicked the wrong button for a cabinet item?). It appears that she did not charge a woman for hot water and a slice of lemon, the woman who berated her very unkindly and loudly reminded her that "lemons are expensive" - I don't disagree. However, if your staff make a mistake there is a more delicate and private way you can correct them. It is easy to make small mistakes in a rush or while you are learning. As a customer the last thing I want to witness is a person being berated unfairly for something that could be handled privately - the cashier herself was very nice and handled the situation well. Poor form from the team - I hope she was apologised to...
