Sumner promenade — Attraction in Christchurch

Wide walkway along the sea parallel to the esplanade. Great views towards Christchurch and North towards Kaikoura on a clear sunny day. There are benches along route to stop and admire the view and toilets are halfway along. At the Eastern edge is a children's splash pool and at the western edge is Sumner beach. Very nice place to visit for a stroll. Places available to access the sea for a paddle. Strong tides so not for very small children. There is an outdoor shower on the western end where you can wash your feet, yourself, or get the dog a drink. Grab an ice cream from nearby vendors, head to the beach or climb cave rock after...
