A great addition to the Sumner hospitality scene. We chose to sit outside in the courtyard on a cold sunny winter's day, and were warmed by the outside heater. The interior is roomy, with some atmosheric reminders of the building's old Post Office days eg the 'Deposits' sign on the doorway to the toilets! Roasted Lamb Pizza good, with a fluffy yet crisp base - I discovered what gremolata is - I didn't like it, but no problem, I scraped it off (it features on a few dishes here). King Prawns were also also good. Last but not least, the tap beers from the excellent Shining Peak brewery in New Plymouth are first class, including one handpull tap which will rotate with different beers. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe celebrated our dogās bday here for lunch. Not only the food was delicious but the service was amazing. The servers were polite and quick, they were so accommodating and friendly to the dogs. They gave us dog bowls automatically.
As itās winter, the outdoor firewood was on along with other heat pump. They also had free blankets to use.
I recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those with dogs.

Every dish we ordered was packed with so much flavour, we could not fault the food. The waiters were knowledgeable and offered fantastic recommendations. We had the focaccia, tuna crudo, fried chicken and Affco wood fired pizza . For dessert we had the tiramisu cannoli and vanilla bean pannacotta. We canāt wait to come back to the Sumner Post...
