A great addition to the Sumner hospitality scene. We chose to sit outside in the courtyard on a cold sunny winter's day, and were warmed by the outside heater. The interior is roomy, with some atmosheric reminders of the building's old Post Office days eg the 'Deposits' sign on the doorway to the toilets! Roasted Lamb Pizza good, with a fluffy yet crisp base - I discovered what gremolata is - I didn't like it, but no problem, I scraped it off (it features on a few dishes here). King Prawns were also also good. Last but not least, the tap beers from the excellent Shining Peak brewery in New Plymouth are first class, including one handpull tap which will rotate with different beers. I tried the Whale Rock hazy, which is a good alternative to their better known Skunk Juice (which is also on tap here).

We celebrated our dog’s bday here for lunch. Not only the food was delicious but the service was amazing. The servers were polite and quick, they were so accommodating and friendly to the dogs. They gave us dog bowls automatically. As it’s winter, the outdoor firewood was on along with other heat pump. They also had free blankets to use. I recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those with dogs. lots of stars for the coffee and hot chocolate!!! It was delicious!!!! Unfortunately I didn’t get to take photos of the food as we were too excited to eat them all

From the moment we walked into Sumner Post Office we were looked after. The restaurant was full, as it should be for the quality and service delivered. Every dish we ordered was packed with so much flavour, we could not fault the food. The waiters were knowledgeable and offered fantastic recommendations. We had the focaccia, tuna crudo, fried chicken and Affco wood fired pizza . For dessert we had the tiramisu cannoli and vanilla bean pannacotta. We can’t wait to come back to the Sumner Post Office. Thank you!
