Niche Coffee + Eatery — Restaurant in Christchurch

I don't write a lot of reviews but if you value true customer service, I cannot recommend this place enough. Earlier this week I had the pleasure of meeting Ben who was just an absolute legend. My mum asked about a cheese & tomato toastie (to which none were in the cabinet) but that didn't stop Ben from asking if one could be made fresh, and I just want to thank the kitchen staff so much for doing that! :) the coffees were amazing (thanks Maddy!) and my partner had a caramel milkshake which was just the bomb!

What's insane. I already know Ben and Maddy's names but that was my first time there.

We will definitely be going back. We cannot appreciate the food or the service enough and deadset the toastie was the best my mums ever had!

Not even mentioning that after we ordered, I asked if they did hashbrowns to which Ben replied they make their own in-house and offered to bring one over for us to try - and of course it was bloody delicious.

Just insane service and such great food. We can't thank you guys...

This has been a long time coming however I have to say the team at Niche Cafe are exceptional. I had organised a post engagement brunch with some close friends and family and Ben was so accommodating and made me feel like I wasn't asking too much. He got behind me and helped me pull it off like I'd known him for years as if he was doing a favour for a mate. When I arrived (Newly engaged) the team were so lovely from start to finish, they even gave us a little clap and cheer! I think what was amazing was I had never been there before and I felt like I was a regular of theirs in the best way. That's a feeling you can't beat from a cafe. Oh my oh me… let me tell you that the asian pork salad was absolutely mind blowing. So much flavour and texture, every bite was a pleasant surprise!!!! Best salad we’ve had for years!

The fries were delicious, super big portions with gochujang sauce which was unique! But the salad alone was big enough for both of us, the staff members kindly gave us takeout boxes and allowed us to have some ketchup as well!

The coffee came in late (got mixed up in orders) and the staff gave us a free coffee card which was unexpected and so nice! The barista did a great job on perfecting the foam and latte art.

Overall great experience, all the staff were lovely and there’s many seats available. Clean and neat, would recommend if you ever came to sumner, it...
