Metropolitan Executive Motel on Riccarton Christchurch — Hotel in Christchurch

The Metropolitan Motel is in an ideal location. A stone's throw from Riccarton Mall & close to restaurants & bars, this motel suited the wife & I just fine.||||My wife is a "Shop-a-holic" & being near the biggest shopping mall in Christchurch was a real bonus. As for me, we were a few kilomrteres from Riccarton Racecourse & Addington Raceway.||||That's the main reason we stayed in Riccarton was because of the New Zealand Cups in both the gallops & trots||||As it turned out we were closer to all the action than if we stayed a few kilometres away in Central Christchurch & the cost of Hotels/Motels is a lot cheaper in Riccarton than Christchurch CBD .||||So if you want to be on a guaranteed winner stay at Riccarton. Couldn't fault the Metropolitan Motel, parking at door, close to shops...

We booked a 2brm apartment for our family for 5 nights and I recommend this motel very highly. Upon arrival we were greeted by skittles the owners lil dog he was soo friendly. The owner Marco checked us in an to my surprise a bag of cold beverages were handed to me. Very pleasant person. The 2brm unit was clean, very spacious, 1min walking distance to Westfield Mall. The room was well equipped, heater in the hallway, aircon in the lounge, sky channels an TV with sky channels in Main bedroom with King bed. Awesome value for money. We had a wonderful stay and cannot say enough about Marco, our fantastic host! |We stayed for 10 days. The location of the hotel is central with a brief walk to one of Christchurch’s largest malls, with a food court, Kmart and lots of other stores. There is close access to the City bus too, which we used daily!|Our room was lovely. It was cleaned daily, dishes washed, beds made, fresh towels, coffee/tea/hot chocolate packets and cookies.
