Joe's Garage Wigram — Restaurant in Christchurch

Joes Garage is situated in the same location as the Silky Otter theater. So when we purchesed tickets to a movie we decided to treat ourselves to dinner as we had time, so we thought. We were seated at 6pm and had 40 minutes till the start of the movie and informed the attendant of that when we ordered chips and gravy. He assured me we would recieve our order in time to make the screening. Time went by and we got nervous that we wouldn't get our order in time. With 15 minutes to go I again asked the attendant if we were good and he re-assured us it would be 1 minute till we could start eating. The chips arrived with 4 minutes till the start of the movie. We started eating but ran out of time. I went up to pay and told the money guy what happened and could we get the chips taken off the bill, of which the majority were left on the plate, but he said it wasn't Joes Garage's fault and refused to do the right thing. I was very upset and argued with him but he just kept saying it was not their fault and we needed to pay.

Well it was indeed the fault of the attendant for not making sure we would be accomodated, and I believe the attendant was both incompetent and dishonest. If he had said we would not receive our order in a timely fashion we could have understood.

This is extremly bad service. We will never go back, I suggest you...

So I had brunch at Joe's on Thursday 10th May 2018. I was accompanied by a friend of mine also. We ordered 2 serves of the Gorgeous George with sides of spinach. The guy who had taken our order had only put one order through and then ended up sitting and took what looked like a break.

The single order had come through so I waited patiently for the second order assuming there was a delay but after 10-15mins later I went to check on what was taking long and found out what had happened from another staff member.

I told her that I wanted that same order and returned to my seat. She comes over asking if I wanted the strips of bacon too ( I was confused to why she was asking me this as the meal already comes with bacon).

After our meal we went to pay, the guy who took our order (messed up our order) was behind the counter and had charged us for extra bacon after we had told him that we didn't get extra bacon.

This is the first time I have had a bad experience at Joe's garage and this is just disappointing that their staff members do not pay attention to orders or are well informed with what each...

Hadn't been to a Joes Garage for a meal for a couple of years as I had stopped taking customers there due to the quality of the meals. However, I had a customer request to meet there as it was convenient. I ordered the Autobahn, which was a Beef Schnitzel, chips and gravy. Chips were good, as was the gray but the schnitzel looked as appetizing as my tramping sock as tasted as good. Would have been 100grams tops, with a bland crumb on it. Not the normal, super crispy schnitzel I have had in other places. Would have been easier to stomach had it not cost $28.50. This was a $20 meal at most. The other both had the Thai beef salad. This consisted of half a bag of mesculin salad each and about 50grams of beef. No cherry tomatoes or anything else substantial. These were $28 each. We also ordered the Kumara fries at $12 for a small bowl. In total it was $110 dollars including 3 cokes. And just for a further kick to the nuts, there was a nearly $2 surcharge to pay by credit card! Surely you dont need to...
