Your experience here would vastly differ depending on the drinks you were preferring to drink. If you go for wine or cocktails and sitting in the comfy looking beautifully decorted main area, it looks really nice. However, a group and I were lured there by the adverts of Garage Project beers they were now serving. It's a great idea and a great and popular brewery. However, the experience falls very short of what could have been. The craft beer bar has none of the luxurious decor of the main bar, but instead plain hard walls with no interesting features. The bar looks ok, with the minimalist theme extending to the beer taps that have no labels on them. The bar staff count along the taps to get the right beer. Easy on a quiet evening likely to go very wrong on a busy one. I would imagine. However, the biggest disappointment was the beer itself. As a craft beer bar, I would expect craft beer lovers like my friends and myself to visit. Otherwise, it's just another bar. Now Garage Project (GP) are renowned for their prolific number of beers they produce. Always pushing the boundaries and creating new beers or traditional style beers in new way. So to be reading a beer list of all the regular, well sampled and staple GP beer line up was incredibly underwhelming. There are no interesting beers to get excited over. With $14 price that now seems normal for craft beer, but not a full real pint serve that should be standard everywhere. It was an expensive evening for not a great return. Food tasted good but was too small portions for the price charged. This place seems to have two halves, the wine & luxery side, and then the GP. I'd only return for...
Read moreGreat venue, absolutely love the space. Wasn't fond of the service generally. We got to the bar, one person being served so we settled to look at the drinks menu. Two people came up after us, the three of us were younger (late 20s early thirties) so I guess they assumed not worth serving or at least not a priority. The two older people were served immediately. When it eventually got to us I asked for a gin and tonic and asked what gins they recommended. Was told that it was all gin, maybe roots or a cheaper gin. (The girls had wines) I'd normally go for the sipsmiths but roots was fine. I'd have stayed for a few drinks but after the less than helpful service at the bar I decided not to try and order another. Cody came up and checked on us afterwards which was appreciated (he is always great). But I'd not recommend a visit unless you look like you are worth it to the staff (older and affluent). If you fit that description though, the venue is absolutely top notch and from the sound of the recommendations other people were getting they really know their wines which is...
