We made an overnight pit stop in Cromwell, NZ. This was done to break up our journey from Dunedin to Aoraki Mt Cook.
We decided on Sera Amano, and Italian restaurant with a very good Google rating. Again a group of 6 descended on this restaurant without a reservation - we ought not to have worried. The place was not packed on a Tuesday.
We had the best Campari spritz (more like a Negroni w/o gin), and the best Italian meal. Our server was Dhruv, and the chef's name regrettably escapes me. Suffice to say, this was the best Italian meal we had in NZ and Australia.

The chef was loudly snorting as if he was sick and wiping his nose with his hand, very off putting for eating. The Gnocchi was burnt and the carbonara was bland. The atmosphere of the restaurant was underwhelming with music that had adds in it, maybe try a playlist without adds would be better. One of it I had a hard time opening and once the waiter open, realized that there was some seaweed in it. Had to clarify on whether it is safe to consume which took up some time.
