Oi, Asahi Japanese in Devonport? Say less — it’s a total gem! Popped in for a feed and left with happy tums and big smiles. I smashed the Salmon Sashimi Don — fresh as! Like it just jumped outta the sea and straight into my bowl. Smooth, buttery, and melts like a dream. No cap.

The missus got the Ebi Don, and honestly, the veggies were next level — kinda like cap cay but with that Japanese twist. Crunchy, tasty, and cooked to perfection. She was stoked!

Place is cosy, staff were sweet as, and the vibes? Chill and comfy. Felt like a little Tokyo corner in the middle of Devonport.

I have been going here since I was a little tiny kid! I think probably knew how to use chopsticks before a fork haha! The food is delish, the staff are so attentive and lovely, and the music and atmosphere is also amazing! Being able to pick your own sushi and drinks plus free water is amaaaaazing I live asahi! Thank you for being my favourite place for lunch, whether on my own, with family, or with friends! Me and my family have introduced so many people to you guys and they all love it too!
