Barilla Dumpling — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Barilla Dumplings and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish.

The ambiance was warm and inviting, with just the right balance of cozy and elegant. The staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel so welcome throughout the evening.

As for the food – wow! Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. I highly recommend trying their fried lamb and green beans 🔥🔥🔥dumplings 🔥🔥🔥 it was absolutely divine and perfectly cooked. The menu had something for everyone, and it was clear that high-quality, fresh ingredients were used in every meal.

We decided to dine out and selected Barilla Dumpling purely because our other favourite Chinese dining place in Browns Bay was fully booked. Barilla was a pleasant surprise. Nothing from the outside but you walk into a super clean friendly warm restaurant with comfortable tables and chairs well spaced away from the other tables. The menu offered a wide variety. The dumplings were great and the two other dishes we ordered very tasty and generous portions. We are going back for sure. (Btw - Dont know who this Ulli Huybrechts person is that gave them a 1 star - his/her other reviews are in Europe so not sure whether they were in NZ 5 months ago in the middle of a Global Lockdown - I completely reject their review of 1 star) C u soon again...

Went in there to get a special - Fried Noodles for $13.99. Place was empty at 6pm- only others waiting for takeaway orders. I had never been here so thought I'd give it a go. Got the shrimp fried noodles. Food was ready really fast- but was super disappointing. About 8 tiny shrimps right on top- and some cabbage, carrots and onions. Apart from that, a box full of pale tasteless hokkien noodles. Definitely won't be coming back if they can't get fried noodles to look fried and add some taste to it 😔 Decent portion size now feels like a punishment given it...
