Culinary Delight at Milford Motel in Auckland I recently had the pleasure of dining at Milford Motel in Auckland, and I must say it was a gastronomic adventure worth remembering. Despite the somewhat misleading name, this eatery is anything but a motel, offering a vibrant culinary experience in the heart of Milford. The atmosphere at Milford Motel is both inviting and lively. The restaurant boasts a spacious outdoor area with communal seating, perfect for a relaxed dining experience. Milford Motel recently underwent a menu adjustment, and the results are tasty. Catering to a variety of dietary preferences, my vegetarian and pescatarian friends were happy with the offerings. The menu is a fusion of flavours, featuring both innovative and classic dishes. Spicy Salmon Tartare with Japanese Mayo: A perfect blend of freshness and spice that set the tone for the meal. Wagyu Beef Sliders: These sliders were a standout, with perfectly cooked wagyu beef complemented by a tantalizing combination of burger sauce, pickles, and cheese. Basque Cheesecake: A delightful finale to the meal, the cheesecake was a heavenly mix of creamy indulgence. The service at Milford Motel was exemplary. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and went the extra mile to ensure a seamless dining experience. Their friendliness added a personal touch to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Considering the quality of the food, the reasonable pricing at Milford Motel was a pleasant surprise. The portions were generous, and the diverse menu allowed for a range of options to fit various budgets. Milford Motel exceeded my expectations with its delightful blend of atmosphere, exceptional service, and, most importantly, outstanding cuisine. I left Milford Motel with a satisfied palate and the certainty that I'll be returning to savour more of their...
Read moreCame in for Father's Day, wasn't the best of days for the weather but the venue was accommodating nonetheless. A little bit more weather proofing would be a nice thing for next autumn/winter but this place will be a banger in summer.
The food was really good, it's definitely nice to see somewhere that is focusing on the quality and presentation of prep amongst Milford's general array of boring Boomer restaurants/food. We ended up ordering everything from the smalls menu, 9 plates and 2 desserts total for the 4 of us. Portion sizes are comfortable, not overwhelming and generally great for sharing. We ended up reordering the kingfish tostada and beef cheek because they were awesome- whoever is making that sauce on the beef cheek is doing the world a favour just by existing. Only thing I have to say that is negative is about the focaccia- not superb. Generally missing that characteristic airy crumb and was quite dense.
Our primary server was prompt, attentive, and friendly- no issues with service, communication or incorrect stuff coming to the table. (Woman with the neck tattoo and octopus half sleeve for any of the managers that might read this, she was great.)
Atmosphere wise the music could have been a little louder but then again it's a family orientated and tight venue, so potentially not the vibe the owner is going for. Great fit out, outdoor area is tidy and inviting. Hard to believe you're right next to the Shakespeare intersection.
Overall super happy with today's experience and looking forward to coming back when the world is a bit warmer. Keen to see how the venue develops as it gets busier and grows in...
Read moreOur first time visiting - booking for Sunday lunch four adults. Busy when we arrived. Slightly slow service start. Very comfortable spacious booth inside. Outside looked very inviting as well. Good atmosphere. Limited menu - would have liked to have seen a more extensive menu. They introduce the menu as a sharing menu - not sure about that not big enough for two to share. I ordered the burrata- it was so delicious and refreshing but it lacked crispy pita biscuits or toasted fresh stick Or similar. Three guests ordered beef burgers but after a very long wait chicken burgers arrived. The situation was quickly handled by a very professional manager - Brad. Sorted out the problem, created solutions which we were all very grateful for. Thoroughly enjoyed our traditional Expresso Martini - you didn’t let us down. Management did an awesome job. I believe it is a great addition to the area. Pricing is not over the top. Children are WELL ENTERTAINED, so adults can enjoy some quality time. It’s fun, bright and breezy in a great spot but I would have liked to have a hand in the uniform 💕 Great spot, highly recommend. Thank...
