JL's Recipe Chinese Food (Takeaways) — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

I normally only write positive reviews - this is the first negative review I've bothered to take the time to post. The dinner was by far the worst takeaway meal experience I've ever had. Firstly, when I rang with a few questions regarding the dishes, the two women on the phone didn't seem able to understand my questions & kept providing mis-information. When I finally thought we got it sorted, I ordered a dish which appeared to be just over $15 on their website/menu. Yet when I picked it up, it was about $1.50 more. The only comment that was made was "oh... we haven't had time to update our website" (I suggested they should). No apologies or attempt to rectify the situation. Once I got home, the medium chili hot sauce was tasteless and anything but hot. The noodle/veggie/meat combo was 80% noodles, virtually no veggies, and all of the meats were very overdone & chewy. One of the most tasteless meals I've ever encountered. I ended up throwing it all in the bin, it was that bad. I grew up eating from here, the food is amazing always and the customer service is great. The people are always so friendly. Great prices and the portions are great too, one fried rice / noodle dish can feed 3-4 people, they really pack the food in there.
