My husband and I were over in NZ and had a meal at Aroma India (December 28 for party of 8 but ended up being 6), which was more of a catch-up with his family who live in Wellington. We had been to Aroma India many years prior when we were over last and it was amazing. The food is still amazing, it is absolutely beautiful food and we recommend it. However......the waitress on the day needs an attitude check. We felt as though everything was too much for her to handle. She was in what I can only describe is a frumpy mood and felt like everything was too much for her. She failed to let everyone know that Poppadoms are complimentary, yes just plain ones, however one of the people on our table ordered them, and had to question why so many were brought to the table. Needs to speak a bit more professionally in front of patrons, such us never ever us the word "Yous" when you are asking "Are yous ready to order?" Yous, or Ewes, is a male sheep! We asked to see the menu again after the mains as one of our table members was thinking about ordering a desert. My husband had to flag the waitress down on a couple of occasions before she came over, no smile, was like it was too much, and asked how she could help us. When we decided we didn't want desert she huffed. We had to ask for top ups of water as I alone was the designated driver so I wasn't drinking....everything seemed like it was too much trouble for her. Waitresses need to make sure they have a smile and have exceptional customer service. So this is what really let down the night. The food as I have said is bloody amazing so well done, just need to let the waitress know she needs to be more professional and at...
Read moreFirst time here:Got shown to our seats then abandoned. After 15 minutes the waiter shows up and said there's a delay in the kitchen and then buggered off. There is a complenterly plate of nuts after the second refill I told them we are ready to order and gave him the plate to refill. He came back with a fresh plate and buggered off and another waiter turned up. We placed our order. 10 minutes later he turns back up and still said there's a wait in the kitchen so once again I handed him the plate to refill the nuts. 5 minutes later he comes to apologize about the delay. So we had been in there for roughly 45 minutes with only nuts to eat. Then finally after the long wait we got our starters and they were average. Same with the mains. The only thing that had taste were the free nuts. In the time that we were there 2 tables left as they did get any food for over an hour. So I don't think I will be going back there in a hurry. Second time here after 6 years, what a massive difference got shown to our seats 5 minutes later order was taken, 15 minutes later...
Read moreHey Dawood, I ordered from the restaurant today and unfortunately received the wrong item due to a small miscommunication — we had asked for Paneer Tikka Masala but ended up getting Chana Masala instead. Mistakes happen, and we came in politely to get it sorted.
However, instead of calmly resolving the issue, the manager began blaming the girl at the counter (Mia), who had simply handed over what was written on the order. It was clear that the confusion happened while communicating the order, not because of her. Despite that, she was the only one actually trying to help by speaking to the chef and fixing the issue.
The manager, on the other hand, was more focused on arguing and pointing fingers rather than solving the problem — to the point where we had to tell him to stop and let the girl handle it. Honestly, she showed more professionalism and communication skills than the manager himself, who clearly struggled with even basic English.
If anyone deserves to be a manager there, it’s that counter girl(Mia) — not the person currently...
