Cahoots Cafe — Restaurant in Greytown Community

We arrived on a very busy lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon. None of the staff were stressed, they were all very friendly and welcoming. The menu selection was great, not to mention the cabinet items as well. We chose a BLT, steak & mushroom pie - which they happily added a yummy side salad onto, EB tea, two kids platters & a choc milkshake split between the two kids. The food was awesome and I love the goodies they put together for the kids' platter - I'm astounded that so many cafes don't do this and continue to offer deep fried rubbish. So huge ups to Cahoots for their kids platter! My husband's BLT went down very well and I had a lovely pie & salad, all was perfectly put together and cooked or heated also perfectly. All this and we paid $52 which I thought was very reasonable. You had four happy customers!

We stopped at Cahoots for lunch. The pricing is good, $42 for 2 adults and 1 child to all have meals. However, the empty tables sat uncleared and uncleaned for the whole time we were there - people were sitting at tables surrounded by the dirty glasses and plates of the previous customers. We waited an hour for our 2 burgers to emerge from the kitchen (the child meal came out 40mins before the adult meals did) and when they did arrive, the bun was stale and the chicken wAsmsmothered in an Asian sauce (an odd choice for a burger with bacon, egg and tomato..) it is also a shame that cahoots don’t do fries. Friendly staff. Cabinet food to choose from as well as the menu and baking. Beautiful creamy scrambled eggs (not overcooked like most places), bacon, either ciabatta or wholegrain toast with a side of hollandaise was my choice. My coffee came cooler than it should have been and staff happily fixed the problem. It's not the problem that is a problem it is the attitude to fixing the problem that people need to learn.
