Caffe' Centrale Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Hamilton

Me and my husband had dinner at Caffe Centrale eventually. We tried since last year to have dinner at Caffe Centrale but the first time we did not book, and restaurant was fully booked for that night, so we ended up having dinner at a different Italian restaurant in town, the second time our children booked as a surprise for us but accidently booked at a different Italian restaurant in town again (not the same as the first one) so the 3rd time was a charm. We can wholeheartedly say that Caffe Centrale is the BEST Italian restaurant you will find in Hamilton and even better than the Italian restaurants we had dinner at in Melbourne too. The food was absolutely outstanding, the atmosphere cozy, warm and welcoming. The owner was fabulous and a wonderful host! He made us feel very welcome and relaxed. The staff were attentive but not hovering over you and we did not feel pressured at all but rather encouraged to sit back relax and enjoy our evening. The portions are large, the service quick and the ingredients fresh. Experiencing the dish takes you straight to Italy, it is full flavour and authentic. A shot in the dark, to find a good meal in a place previously untried. How well Chef Marco and his team at the Caffe Centrale Italian Restaurant responded to the challenge. A piquant and hot cappuccino to start, and cold Corona poured at the table while we made our selections. Melt in the mouth aromatic garlic bread, and a serving of nine succulent mussels in the shell, in a copious amount of a tomato sauce, clearly fresh and made on site, to tantalize the tastebuds and spark thoughts of a country villa. Mains were a double delight of individually baked lasagne, creamy and filled with beef and mozzarella. The pasta was firm but perfect, the fillings to die for, and the smell alone had me salivating. Plates scraped clean, constant appropriate checking from the friendly and efficient staff, and generous sized portions that left no room for desert. This is the second time I've been to this cafe for dinner. The last night the restaurant was fully booked when I entered instead of turning me away. Asked if I would be happy to serve it the bar for a meal since I was by myself. I was more than happy to do this I think that this was just an incredible level of service considering most places would have just said sorry Asics available and showed me the door. Put on trial are garlic bread covered with olive oil marinated tomatoes and basil was wonderful followed by medium rare sirloin steak covered in mushrooms with a side of chips and seasonal vegetables. The vegetables in this main dish were superb. They were the best vegetables I have tasted with a meal for quite some time. As a coincidence I ended up in this restaurant by mistake I was supposed to go to the Italian restaurant next door and try their steak. I will have to go there tomorrow.
