Maaaaaaate! Good George’s Brewery and Dining Hall is worth the pilgrimage. If you’re a fan of George’s fantastically wide range of ciders and beers, you will be in perfect nirvana. If not, you will be treated to the kind of hospitality you can only can at the most exclusive working men’s clubs! Based in a converted church, the stain glass windows to hops and a halo’ed pint of George’s current Belgian Dubbel, the Hall is open and spacious, though feels far from empty, even on a quiet day. March straight in from the off-street carpark to the towering fermentation vats and be welcomed by 15 taps of goodness ranging from the arch-achievements of the Doris Plum Cider and XPA, to their most recent limited releases, this week was Passion Pulp Sour Ale. Serving a snack menu in the quiet hours, you’ll be exceptionally well catered for with either an interesting take on known pizzas - try the coffee-rubbed lamb pizza! - or a selection of moorish wedges or platters. Tours available, but why not guide yourself with a tasting tray of beers for $16! Special events several nights a week, plan for Good George to be a big night. There’s even a covered outdoor area, guiding by more tanks, so you can start at lunch and whittle away the hours. Go here to experience on of New Zealand’s best breweries, and enjoy working your way through the range of beers all while brewers keep the hubbub going!

I came to Hamilton for personal reasons and searched for this restaurant. Even though I couldn't speak English well, the staff were very friendly and I had a delicious meal. I'd definitely like to go again.

Great pub experience. All the classics done really well. Staff are friendly and nothing seems like too much trouble. They love their product and dont mind giving advice about it even trying different beers and ciders. We went on Wednesday night which was "Burger Special" a burger, fries, and anything that is on tap for $29. We had one of each burgers, fish, chicken and beef. They were all of a great size and you could not fault them. Beef was especially juicy and not dry or over cooked. The same could not be said of the pork belly bites, although it had a great sweet sauce the bites were dry and stringy. The cheesy baguettes were amazing and a great starter. The food was good but the staff were better. The made it very homely and especially Leslie, he made it a night to remember. His customer service is second to none, both professional and welcoming with great knowledge but not pushy. Great place with background music, plenty of televisions to watch. Also having a bottle store so you can purchase your drink of choice is a massive plus. Great place with groups large or small. We will be back.

I was here just tonight and little did I know cause I don't drink alcohol. I wanted to buy a bottle of APA. I asked the person on the beer counter if there is an APA called Panhead. He started laughing and said why would we sell APA band head when we have our own brewery? I was confused, not by the question, but by the way he asked me. I asked him about any other APA, but he went back to the same question and told me you're asking me something like if I go to McDonald's and ask for a Burger Fuel burger it's a very stupid question to ask. He could've politely declined and given me options as I was kindly asking him the questions but he and the other staff members over there were also laughing on me and made me feel so embarrassed. Is this The way you treat your customers? Is this the way you value people coming to your bar and if they ask you a question an innocent one and you make them feel embarrassed and not only you but the other staff members who were looking at me and laughing on my face the worst service I've ever received I'm never gonna come back. I asked okay then can I get a bottle of APA from yiur brewery, he laughed and said NO in suck a rude way. Being a Kiwi and respecting people I never expected this from good...

We had our wedding reception at Good George Dining Hall in Jan 2019. We will never forget the manaakitanga the staff showed us. They were attentive and kind and did everything they could for us. Things like lighting the candles in our centrepieces, saving all the entrƩe leftovers for us, helping to bring our fairy lights down at the end of the night, and bringing out a celebratory drink to my husband and I (we had a bar tab and they asked if we wanted a celebration shot), and much more. The general manager, Joe, was very relaxed and accommodating, which helped us de-stress. He organised a high quality sound system on our behalf (for a fraction of the price too), and also blocked off our space so we could set up early---despite the Hall being open and trading that day. The food was excellently timed, mouth-wateringly good, and in big portions. The beer and cider were excellent as always. So many of our friends and family said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. It was so much better than anything we could have asked for! Big thank you to everyone at Good George for helping to make the night magical. We can't wait to come back with our friends to celebrate our 1st...
