I went to Extreme Edge with my nephew and friend. It costed me $21 for my nephew to enter he is 8 year's old, my friend and I did not have to pay.
The facility itself was a huge Warehouse and had two sections of rock climbing that displayed very colourful and varied themes on the rock climbing wall based on fairytale stories and nursery rhymes which was great fun for the children and I was very impressed.
The Instructors are there to show the children what to do.
After I paid the entry fee they put him in a harness and gave him instructions how to click onto the pole from his harness and hoist himself onto the rock climbing base and lift himself upwards to climb.. although at first I found it helpful before each climb I needed to remind my nephew again what he should do before he embarked on climbing the wall to ensure maximum safety.
I think it's helpful you support the smaller children especially to click the pole onto their harness which I found to be quite heavy.
Overall I found it an all empowering experience for children who were free to use their initiative as it eliminates fear and instils confidence that they are 💯 in control...
There was an Air Hockey table where my nephew and friend played a challenging game to their heart's content. It was a lot of fun and it costs $2 a game lol..
There were table and chairs for resting or where you could have snacks or lunch and they have a drinks machine and coffee is available.
We spent an exhilirating two hours there.
In every event it was great exercise and a wonderful experience for child and adult to bond in...
Read moreTook my kids there with their cousins for the afternoon. They had a great time even my just turned 5 year old daughter was getting into it, there is fun for big kids, adults and little kids including an air hockey table,a place upstairs for birthday parties etc. Easy wheelchair access. Also a great friendly team of people to assist where needed. Top marks 5/5
The ONLY REASON i didn’t put a fifth star was because the air temperature in there was very warm bordering on hot, my kids were sweating and didnt want to eat they just wanted water. Just sitting watching was very warm let alone climbing as well. So if your'e not heat tolerant wait till a cool day .
Over all. I will be going back! It was great fun for a...
Read moreI’ve had 2 vastly different experiences at this place. First time I took two minis and they had a great time. There was 2 girls behind the counter and one was constantly checking up on kids offering them encouragement and showing them different challenges. Went again recently 3 guys behind the counter, sarcastic with my youngest as he was setting him in. They never really moved from behind the counter. You could see them pulling the finger at their mates and generally attempting to be too cool for school. I’m sure whoever employees these guys would have been at best disappointed with the effort they were putting into their jobs. The 3 kids I had didn’t notice though in fairness so didn’t really affect...
