Disappointed! Really fell for the buzz that was created on Tiktok.
I booked through their website. It was more complicated than it needed to be. To book you need to send them a message, rather than using a calender and picking a time slot like you would typically at any other resturant. When I received an email to confirm the booking it mentions it being a Japanese resturant and then further in the email it says Korean. Which is it?
Food was just ok. Very limited options. I feel as if I just ate meat. The sweet and sour pork was incredibly greasy. We did enjoy the beef short ribs, they were the highlight of the meal. The fried chicken was alright but it wasn't anything special. A lot of the food was just warm and when they did bring out more to top up, it was just dumped on top of what is already there. I do wonder how long some of the food had sat at the bottom for. When I went to grab a plate it was really greasy and off putting. The plates were plastic which cheapened the experience.
When we were sat down we were told that they'd be back to take our drink orders. They never came to take until we had our dessert. I would not have ordered a drink anyway tbh as they were wildly over priced. I understand that the buffet is very reasonably priced (there isn't many buffets in this price range... but whether it is worth the money is a different story) and they need to make money somewhere. I would've had 2-3 glasses of wine if they were priced between $9-$11/glass. The cheapest option on the menu (apart from a prosecco) was $15/glass and the next priced option was $17/glass. So they ended up with no money from us for drinks. Reducing the price of the drinks would mean more was sold. It is unnecessary for a $18 bottle of wine (price currently at Countdown) to be priced at $15/glass.
Dessert was limited - just ice cream and lollies. There was a plate and sign for brownie but it was never refilled. The water for the ice cream scoops just sat, I didn't see anyone change it. The spoons for the lollies were too small that it meant people ended up using their fingers - small tonges would be a far better option.
Overall, heavily underwhelmed. The marketing on Tiktok made it seem incredible and a hot spot to go. It is a real shame as we came from out of town and we have been meaning to go for ages (tried to book previously but it was...
Read moreWent here with friends for a late-night dinner booking (20+ people at 8:30 pm). We didn’t have to wait for tables since it was late, and I even asked if they could extend our time by 30 minutes past their 9:30 pm closing — they kindly allowed it. Staff are really friendly and accommodating, which made the night even better.
Food was good and served hot, with dishes regularly replenished for the eat-all-you-can buffet. The Korean chicken was great, and the other Korean dishes were tasty too. There’s dessert as well. Drinks are paid separately, but they currently have a promo: if your bill is $40+ you can spin their roulette and win a voucher that doesn’t expire (redeemable on your next visit) — such a fun bonus.
The Korean BBQ is a new addition since our last visit. I didn’t use it this time since it was late and I couldn’t be bothered cooking, but some of my friends did and enjoyed it. Only downside — parking can be hard to find, so allow extra time. Overall, we all left...
Read moreAfter seeing the tik tok about Kushi, we were so excited to try it. The disappointment started to set in as soon as we were seated and told that there would be a charge for wasted food (this is the first time I have ever seen this). The salad bar was underwhelming, not that we were there for salad. The hot food was far from hot, I would classify it as luke-warm and the concern of food poisoning was at the front of out minds. The fried chicken was by far the tastiest item, however it was almost cold, not ideal. The pork was fatty and chewy and not tasty at all. There was alot of beef and seafood, which I don't really eat. The best items were the deep fried items that you can get anywhere. We didn't even bother trying the dessert as it looked less than appetizing. We went elsewhere for dessert. We weren't even asked how our meal was when we were paying. Definitely won't be recommending to friends and family, and won't be returning. Waste of money. Not at all worth...
