AJ Seeley Gully is a hidden oasis in the heart of Hamilton that offers a truly unique experience. Stepping into the gully feels like entering a different world, surrounded by lush native bush and the calming sounds of nature. The walkways are well-maintained and meander through the gully, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful walk or some quiet reflection. What I love most about AJ Seeley Gully is the rich biodiversity. It's incredible to see so many native plants and birds thriving here, thanks to the careful restoration efforts. The gully provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature without having to leave the city. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a bird watcher, or simply looking for a tranquil spot to escape the hustle and bustle, AJ Seeley Gully is a must-visit. It's a beautiful and serene place that showcases the best of Hamilton's natural beauty. Highly recommend!

Not wheelchair friendly, right next to a private driveway. Need to park on Whyte St and walk as there is no parking in or around the culdesac. Sign is barely visible. But if you can and are able to trek down, the reserve looks natural, the sound of birds and water relax even the most stressed.

This is one of our most favorite gully walks in Hamilton. We found that the parking is easier at Armagh Street and there are actually two walkways there into the bush. It is maintained very well by a team of people. Lovely to hear the birds in the trees. My photos are taken Feb & March 2023.

Short loops with little boardwalks and bridges. Suitable for all the family (though not all of it is stroller friendly). Some of the original corflute signage made by Dr Seeley is still there, and students have upgraded other signage. There are several special things to look out for such as a morepork memorial and some magnificent trees. There is a restoration group that meets regularly to weed and look...
