I went to this place quite frequent back in 2014 when i was studying in University of Waikato. Two years later I came back to visit, the restaurant is still standing. Im enjoying it now and was enjoying it then. The reason I use the word "enjoy" to describe is because i like the restaurant to an emotional level. Place yourself in my shoes if you were a student and was looking for sth filling, large chunk of meat with unlimited refill of rice and kimchi would make your day, throwing in the price factor you are paying for. Quality is good and remains the same this day. Not a fancy restaurant but it makes you feel like home. The staff are koreans, they dont talk much, but they feed you well. If you want to get infected with H. pylori and Hepatitis B, then this is a good place to go. Because the owner of this store has a very twisted and shady humanity. The potatoes and kimchi in the four-minute side dish that came up had serious food safety issues. The potatoes were blackened potatoes purchased from a specialized source and then served to the customer with a small piece of potato that was left over from all the culling to look decent. The kimchi is even dirtier because they collect leftover kimchi from previous customers and serve it to new customers. As a Korean, I am so ashamed and endlessly saddened by this owner's actions. My daughter and a bunch of her friends came here for her birthday lunch. Some of them had ordered and paid, but they were waiting for a few other friends to show up. The server refused to let them have their individual side dishes even though they were paying for their own individual meal. They told them they had to share otherwise they could leave and go elsewhere. If they asked for more side dishes then they were gonna have to pay extra for them. If they hadn't paid already then they would have left immediately. This treatment seriously ruined their lunch and time together. What a way to treat your customers....
