The service I recieved left me feeling uncomfortable and grossed out.
When I walked into the location, there was a large baby crib positioned right by the door. An employee's bag, blankets and other belongings was all over the only table that was out, aside from the window bar stools.
The only employee was sitting on the floor behind the counter, barely visible with her baby. I had no idea what she was doing down there and felt embarrassed and uncomfortable to look. I was greeted with a suprised sounding grunt as I made my order on the self-service machine. Once I'd placed it, she said 'five minutes.' During this five minutes, she cradled, talked to and did whatever else she was doing with her baby before she put him in his cradle right by the door. I thought then she would finally make my food but she came over to him again to check he was okay, and get some airpods from her junk on the table. She seemed to talk to a man who was busy on the phone outside (an employee?).
She did not wash her hands, only wiped them, and then made began making order. I felt grossed out and considered asking for a refund but felt so uncomfortable already, like I was invading her privacy even though this is her workplace and she is supposed to serve me, her customer. As she was making my food, another woman who knew her and the baby came in and started entertaining it. This only made me more uncomfortable, like I wasn't supposed to be there. Almost as though I'd walked into someone's private moment.
She apologised and thanked me for my patience after handing me my food, which made me feel slightly guilty for the grossed out review I was leaving on Google as I waited. After thinking, I will be rewriting this review as this experience was absolutely unnacceptable.
As I ate, I Googled food safety laws in New Zealand because it seems absolutely wild and illegal to me for a baby to be in the same place food is prepared for the public. Unsafe, not to mention incredibly unhygenic. SO GROSS.
Not only this, but my order was also incorrect. I recieved gross wholegrain bread when I ordered the plain. There was also very very little sauce.
Horrible, horrible experience. I'm a regular at Pita Pit Cambridge (great service there) but honestly have been mildly put off eating there as well because of this. Will definitely never be back to Hamilton CBD.

First of all only 1 person working a busy area at a busy time. I had to wait in line while he finished the previous customer (thats not the problem and is perfectly reasonable) but then he started serving me then started serving the next person before he even started my meal. He then left my food on the cooker for too long. He had no customer service skills, when I asked nicely if he could quickly finish mine as i was running late he ignored me, even when the customer he was serving agreed with me. Slack service, poor food skills. And no public bathroom, where was I ment to wash my hands...
