Anijas Fresh Fruit Ice Cream — Restaurant in Henderson-Massey

We come here often for the vegan icecreams. Not anymore after such an awful experience. They usually wash the machine out regardless, but today the lady asked if we were allergic to dairy, and when we said no not technically, she proceeded to make the icecreams in an unwashed machine dripping with dairy icecream. 🙄 You can’t advertise a product as vegan when you make no precautions to avoid cross contamination with animal products. It’s incredibly disrespectful to your vegan customer base. When the lady confirmed that this was in fact what she did (initially we had no idea why she had asked the question) we refused to eat the icecreams. She got angry and tried to excuse herself by telling us that when she asked us if we were allergic we said no (despite us just peacefully wanting to buy another two icecreams that were made in a machine that had been rinsed out). My daughter was refused a replacement cone because the one she was handed had a hole at the bottom and was dripping. My wife had brought 6 kids(friends) for a treat. I was disgusted when they tried to charge her for the cone. She argued on principle the original cone was broken and should never have been used but they blamed my daughter. Then told my wife not to come back... All over a 50cent cone!!REALLY?? is it worth loosing a regular customer? The ice cream and service is awesome. We will gladly travel the 15 min drive to go to this shop. They mix the fruit with the ice cream to order and you end up with a gorgeous soft serve texture. They even have gluten free cones. They are patient with families ordering and make your ice cream quickly and efficiently. Things to note: if you need a napkin ask for it, there is limited seating and it is outdoor, they do have shade umbrellas, I don't believe they have a restroom, they only have fruit flavours so no chocolate, lastly the milk shakes are average compared to the...
